  2. After an off-road trip I felt my Prado pulling slightly to the right. Of course I did hit by front bumper in the dunes so it appears to be one of the reasons. On approaching an ADNOC based tire repair outlet I was told without even checking teh alignment that it is better to take it to the "company" as they only do the electronic alignment for one axis.

Any adivice on the matter and does anyone know of a good garage ( not the agency please) in Sharjah or Ajman area?

  3. Now that I committed my self to this RC Car club, I have a few hundred questions:

    1. Can i get a decent rc kit fo under aed 500?

    2. Where can i get this.

    3. Idealy, I want to assemble it. Is that a good move or do you suggest buy one off the shelf?

Gaurav Bhai if this works the next club will be for RC gliders...they will be awesome  to fly from the top of dunes- as long as we can land them she somewhere  safely.

Since its been about 2 weeks from the last desert drive, my mind was getting restless. Guess am completely infected by the desert bug, so after discussing with Gaurav, I though of posting a desert drive. :-D

idea is to meet up somewhere near Al Hayer and then drive to Nahel. From google maps it looks like an interesting terrain. I have not been to this area, so it would be great if someone can suggest a meeting point . Plan is as follows:

    When: 29 September 2017
Meeting time: 5:00 AM, convoy will move at 5:15 AM
Where: First ADNOC Station while exiting from E66 onto E20

    GPS Coordinate: https://goo.gl/maps/ncY7BeVTct12

Level of drive: Fewbie - Expert - Advance - (absolute newbie and newbie as passengers only)
Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 10 inches of ground clearance
Plan: Early morning drive from Al Hayer to Nahel
What to bring along: Morning breakfast - whatever you like with little extra to share, water, liquids, smiles, stories, and enthusiasm.

    Please RSVP on below calendar

Is it a "go"  for Friday morning, in light of the fog/mist conditions?

A bad cheap battery won't damage your electronics but may cause issues and throw up a lot of electrical trouble codes. It won't last as long and could leave you stranded.

Rather than disconnecting a battery if you're not going to use the car for a while, I recommend using a battery conditioner instead. They aren't expensive and you can get solar ones if you have no mains power supply. Disconnecting in modern cars can cause all sorts of problems which can lead to a lot of things having to be reprogrammed.

Thanks. will try to get a a battery conditioner.

    A few noob questions here.

Has anyone taken or know anyone who has taken a hire car to the desert?

What happens if you break something? Are you insured or do you have to pay for the damage?

Are you even allowed to take a hire car to the desert?

    Hi,

I have no idea about hiring a vehicle for the desert but was conveyed by some people that the off-road insurance does not cover accidents if you are more than a few meters from the road. It seems this is in the fine print . Kindly confirm.

Al Jadaf ship repairing yard has many shops that giveaway or sell scrap wood, which is perfect for barbecue or bonfire.

Recently discovered this place who sells it, so no more favour looking faces...! Simply go there and he will load the trunk to your desire and pay him something like 20-30 dhs for whole lot.
