Why would a shop deflate air for you!!!!!

I once went on desert safari and there was a station where they would deflate and reinflate the tires. What I mean is that is there a place from where i can get the pressures lowered and filled up again. Also how would the normal shyte grandtreks behave on sand with less pressure?

I had meant to get the portable compressor by today but it just got facked up, and they didn't deliver it today so I will have to look for someplace else for the air lowering and filling.

If there's a problem with the diff, it won't be possible to lock the back wheels. If the wheels spin with the diff locked but don't spin without, then you don't have LSD.

Jack the back of the car up. Spin one wheel. If the other wheel spins the same direction then you have LSD. If it spins the opposite direction the you don't have LSD.

LSD and lockable diffs are 2 completely different things.

Land cruiser (2000-present) has an lsd. The hub locks the front and the rear wheels.

If you had a broken axel the car wouldn't be moving at all. As the power takes the path of least resistance and all power in 2wd mode would be going to the broken axel and you would  be going no where.

If the car is doing the classic one wheel peel then the LSD clutches have gone pear shaped and need to be replaced and the diff need to be refilled with LSD diff oil

I might have to replace the clutches, you are right bro. Also, is the lc part time RWD?

I can replace the clutch myself but my father doesn't trust me! Where can I buy the clutches or maybe one step up tell me where can i get performance ones. Also, cost?

You can do burnouts in sand in D, but not very prominently on road.

Almost same year as yours I had 2003 model in 2006-08, doing some burnouts while learning off-roading in boat

dayumn :D did you lock the axles? also locking the axles would make the wheel spin right, but would it harm the diff?

If you want to do proper burnouts, man up, buy a manual and consider fitting a linelock/brake bias valve.

If you want to disable the TCS, try pulling the ABS fuse.

But ABS and TCS is completely different.

I don't wanna do burnouts I wanna know about the TCS

  5. Hello gearheads(I hope it's not inappropriate),

So, I feel like the land cruiser 100 has a traction control built in, and the only time you can switch it off is while messing with the off road gear. Help me out here.

If there is one how do I turn it off or get something built (like a button) to turn it off?

You need one to get there and back

    Friend.

@desertdude Not necessarily, you just need a driver to get there and back.

Im all for people learning to drive before they get their license. I did it and I'm all the better for it. The whole education system of teaching people to drive on the road from scratch isn't good. Far better to learn off road than start mingling with traffic when you're still capable of mixing up the clutch, brake and accelerator pedals.

    Nailed it.

This isn't the UK. You can get into some real serious shit if you do and recently whoever lends his car to an unlicensed driver too. I can't believe you would condone something like this over here in a public forum.

    Hush Hush :P

Yup they grow up faster than mushrooms

@umarcrespo333 any season off-roader will never venture all alone unless otherwise it's life threatening because of too many unexpected risk involved in going to desert alone.

Minimum two or three cars is must, please remember this always.

PS. In case you don't rem then time will make you remember this very soon.

The beach and the desert are 2 completely different animals. Beach sand is compacted and full of sea shells. It's nearly impossible to get stuck unless you're dicking around. The sand in the desert varies. It's always moving. You can hit a soft spot and get buried into the axles very easily. You won't face 30 meter dunes on the beach, you won't fall into bowls at the bottom of dunes etc. I just want you to know what you're getting into. Yes it's still sand, but it's very different sand.

Exactly the reason I'm not going deep into the unknown. Why I am looking for a place like awafi is cuz if you get stuck easy to get help unlike deep deserts. Basically I don't wanna go alone but at the same time I wanna go alone, so the place I'm looking for is suitable.

I shall join your drives as soon as I get my license.

If it's your first time, I'd recommend going on one of the Carnity desert drives. You'll be safe and if you get stuck, someone will be there to pull you out. Learn the basics before you go out alone.

    Thanks,

I do know the basics, I have driven multiple times around a beach(it does have dunes). I'm totally geared up for this. About going out alone, that's the reason I'm going out to a place like this (you know where there's a lot of cars).

  9. Hello again,

I have been planning to get a taste of some sand and won't change my decision from going for some dune bashing this Eid.

But I don't know where to go. My preference is that where can I stop and watch other patrols and land cruisers make it to the top of a hill. I want to know a spot, not a route, just a spot. Like the one in the picture below. Don't wanna go deep into the desert.

  10. Thanks,

    @desertdude

wow Shaheeens look good, 320 a piece is pretty good. Clarifying, i have heard that 900s are bad on surfaces other than sand. But really I wouldn't drive recklessly on road  knowing how the tires are so i wouldn't worry about losing control. Second, looks , they look really good and give your suv personality. I believe any suv with undersized tires and wheels looks really bad and especially the lc 100 nothing makes it look good except the 900s.

Still then Shahenn are the second 900s (i want those huge walls). How much for can i get a used one and what is the tire range also please provide me with the location?

    Appreciate it all.

  11. Hello once again,

So recently i have been looking into sand tires or the huge walled tires you usually see on every 3rd suv owned by a UAE local.(picture below)

And damn they are expensive at about 550 dirhams for a new and I have no knowledge on used (last I heard was about 250, I could be wrong).

So i went dabbling around the internet and I found stuff on this link. https://www.alibaba.com/showroom/sand-tyre-uae.html . Wow supercheap tIres!

Then i think they only sell those to shops. But to clarify my mind, I thought it would be interesting to get the opinions of the carnity pros ;)!!!

    Go wild guys! Thanks!

Also tell me what would you all say to using these tires second hand!

    Thanks!
