  1. Hi @Mohammad Sayawoush Azad welcome to @Carnity! I see this will be your first drive and am sure you are excited for this one. can you also please respond on below points ? Please share your vehicle details - Make, Model, Color, and Year. Do you have any prior off-road experience? If yes, pls share details. Confirm your vehicle has front and rear tow hooks/eyelets. Advise if you have a programable radio and safety flag or not. And confirm that you have seen : MUST WATCH: NEWBIE VIDEO BRIEFING ( the link given above)
  2. Good morning Team ! @Mehmet Volga@Ishak@Mohit Gurnani@Gertjan@Anoop Nair@Gary F@Mus_hus78@Jona Petrol stations from Dubai-Al Ain Road: https://maps.app.goo.gl/K3c9Jf2wHLUViw7s7 Petrol station if you are coming from AD side: https://maps.app.goo.gl/u9ptC1TTjzvsoN7A6 Some remarks about the terrain: * This area is providing a buffet of bowls and nice large dunes and ridges. We will be making endless loops and climbs, which will be a challenge for any passenger. So please refrain from bringing passengers on this drive as there would be guaranteed motion sickness. We will use CH4 - 446.081 Mhz as radio channel. Please be on time (deflated and ready to go by 6AM) so we can have our fill and enjoy the few hours of cool weather. See you all tomorrow morning !
  3. "I found it interesting that the dunes would push me into the narrow technical area repeatedly and I had to keep getting out only to find myself back in the narrow technical area" This area is known for that, if you are not careful it drags you into the technical dunes which can be challenging. Fayah has a special place in my heart as i came here first in July2021 and it quickly became one of my favorite areas. Whenever you have the chance, go and say hello to the fox burrows here: 24.37277, 55.07391
  4. The band behind “a horse with no name” was “America”, a band that was formed by a group of young Americans that were studying and living in London as their fathers were military and stationed in the RAF airbase. So we can still make those English teachers proud
  5. The confused mind of a desert wanderer, by @Frederic I was half in mind, I was half in need And as the rain came down I dropped to my knees and I prayed I said, "Oh heavenly thing, please cleanse my soul I've seen all on offer and I'm not impressed at all" I was halfway home, I was half insane And every shop dune I looked at, just looked the same I said, "Now send me a sign to save my life 'Cause at this moment in time there is nothing certain in These days of mine" You see it's a frightening thing when it dawns upon you That I know as much as the day I was born And though I wasn't asked, I might as well stay And promise myself each and every day That when you're knocked on your back and your life's a flop And when you're down on the bottom there's nothing else But to shout your convoy to the top Well we're gonna shout them to the top We're gonna shout them to the top
  6. Passenger stopped caring a long time ago....
  7. no passenger in sight to shovel me out...
  8. Thank you all for joining guys ! @Chris Wing stellar job as a second lead buddy ! No dusty pistons in sight ! @Jona You've shown your skills already last week, so i knew you'd be doing great as well today ! @Bjoern Radiating coolness today and superb skills. Well done buddy ! @Joseph Raju i know now the capabilities of the Patrol, and in this terrain it's not easy to navigate the heavyweight through the dunes, but you did it masterfully ! @Jaro Tuzinsky Another fun morning out similar to last week, but with extra boost ! @Salim Akhtar Fantastic driving !! Keep an eye out for next week's drive @Santoso Marjuki i hope your son is feeling better ! Excellent driving of course as always ! @Zed you were not forced to sweep today 😁 Hope you had fun anyways ! @DP1011 Fantastic sweep duties today buddy and somehow at one point the climbing became easier. Was it really the tires ?🤣 I was blessed with having my mentor on board as a passenger today, @Gauravwho did a stellar job at not getting sick from the rollercoaster drive and we had a good chit-chat while jumping over the dunes. Thanks for joining buddy ! Wishing you all a good remainder of the weekend ! I will be back in this area very soon.....
  9. Hi @RaggsWelcome to Carnity ! Going from 16inch to 18inch will indeed result in lower driving comfort. The main reason is that your tyres have a lower sidewall profile now (265/60/18) vs something like 265/70/16. The car will drive a bit harder, but your noise should not necessarily increase to it makes me think your tires are the culprit. Which tires (brand and model) did you have on 16inch tires ? And what do you have now ? PS are you planning on off-roading ? In that case the 16inch would have been better

  16. You have 3 kinds of modified JL's: 1. The ones that have been heavily abused in the desert.. RUN AWAY FROM THOSE AS THEY WILL DRAIN YOUR WALLET 2. The ones that have been driven on beginner level drives only because the owner likes to take it easy. 3. The ones that have been taken the malls only and hardly been offroad at all. A deep inspection (take a good mechanic with you) should reveal in which category the car belongs, but indeed like @Mark Bmentions in many cases they remove parts and put the car back to stock to sell it, so it's indeed challenging. There is a large number of Jeep owners that have deep pockets and go for a fully equipped modified to the brim Jeep Wrangler, but due to work or travel hardly take it to the desert. Buying one like that could turn out to be a good deal IF the mods were done properly and with RTA approvals where needed (important one).
