  3. A bit more real-life practical video: Single Pull Line without use of a snatch-block. This is the most common used technique for winch recovery: Double Line Pull by using a single snatch block: The Single Pull Line will work for 90% of winch recoveries we do in the sand. Make sure to unreel your winch rope as far as you can, as this provides more winching power (less rope on the reel means a smaller diameter means better power ratio) but keep at least 5-6 reels on the winch, otherwise the rope can get loose from the reel. The Double Pull Line with a snatch block will basically reduce the load for the winch with 50%, so it is recommended for those rare extreme recoveries. Of course in real life scenarios there are many possible ways to recover a vehicle, including the use of other vehicles to redirect forces, or use them as an anchor. There is no perfect handbook and it will be trial and error to see what works best.
  4. As daily driver and music lover this is indeed a bliss to enjoy music in the best possible way and i totally agree with the direction you went. This used to be one of my hobbies back in Belgium and i met wonderful people in this world. We did both IASCA competitions based on audio quality, as well as DB-Drag races (louder is better). This scene has slowly faded out due to the fact that new cars came with much better stock soundsystems and the police and car inspection started to crack down on tuners and people with 9 subwoofers in the trunk In UAE the number of high quality shops is extremely limited. You will indeed need to do extensive research to find the unicorns and be completely transparant with your wishes and how to execute it. Reading your post catapulted me back to these good old days of looking for the newest Focal or MBQuart speakers, Rockford or Audison amplifiers, and JL audio subwoofers..
  5. Hi @Krishna R do not focus too much on the wattage as most brands advertise 500 or 1000 Watts while in reality this is called PMPO (Peak Music Power Output) and not representative for the actual output. The actual wattage will be expressed in RMS. In an offroad vehicle i have seen multiple issues occuring with external amplifiers, this is mostly because quite often we will have sand getting in the vehicle, and the wires and cabling in general are having a hard time from all that shaking and rattling. For that main reason i would advise you to get a decent head-unit installed (Pioneer, Sony, or equivalent) and just connect the 4 new speakers without an external amplifier. It will sound pretty decent for an offroad vehicle. You can always add an external amplifier later. A subwoofer is also something i would avoid in an offroad car. It takes up a lot of space and gets damaged easily. Make sure to double check the correct dimensions of the speakers you want to buy (yours seem correct). A good alternative for the Pioneer speakers is Infinity, or JBL GTO Series. Upgrading the Stereo System in Your 2005-2012 Nissan Xterra (crutchfield.com)
  6. Super congrats to all of you for completing this unforgettable challenge ! Amazing job @Kailasfor taking up the lead in this kind of terrain and completing it wonderfully !
  7. I spoke to a friend of mine with a 2012 Land Cruiser GXR. According to him the instrument cluster does not light up during daytime, only when he switches on the headlights.
  8. DRIVE REPORT The area around Faqa is well known, but even though i have been there many times, i still discover new places and areas, and for this reason it's one of my favorite places to go offroading. We met up around 7.30 with most people arriving earlier so they had ample time to deflate, set up the flags, and enjoy the sunrise . Some new faces like @Dorian Zissi @sohinik @Natalia Koryakovtseva and @Ahmad Quadri who joined us for the first time and drove superb for their first drive !! The weather was pleasant and the company / convoy even more so. We had our bit of shoveling, and even tested christened Davie his winch for the perfect occasion. I kept the terrain difficulty rather easy as our convoy was very long, but never felt that someone is holding us back. All of you did amazing this morning. The brilliant support from @Rizwanm2 and @Davie Chase made sure that whenever we hit an issue, it was swiftly and professionally dealt with. @Joseph Sebastian we drove many times together, and i really like your calm and mature approach to offroading and your kills., and i could not have asked for a better second lead. Thank you for that ! At the end of the drive, i had to quickly rush to go and pickup my daughter. Sorry if i failed to greet you all before heading back onto the tarmac. I hope to see you all soon in the sand again !
