Thanks @Looper from what I’ve noticed the MOI website works the best to retrieve cars registered in Abu Dhabi. Perhaps the federal database and Dubai database are not (yet) aligned.

Whenever buying a second-hand vehicle, it is essential to do some research on the history of that particular vehicle to see if it was involved in accidents in the past. There are a few options: 1. International - VIN Report VIN Check and get Vehicle History Report | Free VIN Search (faxvin.com) There are several available websites for this. You will be able to see if the vehicle has been involved in accidents. This is definitely useful if the vehicle has been imported from another country like US. 2. UAE - Ministry of Interior Accidents Inquiry Ministry of Interior MOI - Accidents Inquiry This portal service shows the accident history stored in the Federal UAE database. For each accident it will show you photos and information about the severity. 3. UAE-Dubai RTA Vehicle Status Report RTA - Services Will provide you a detailed report with the odometer reading, previous inspection history, or accidents. Using these services will give you a good background on the second-hand vehicle you are about to buy, and if the car has been involved in serious accidents.

Another great morning out with Carnity Family ! It was fantastic to meet you all again in the sand ! With @Melenany , @Hisham Masaadand @Abdelghani as my sidekicks i knew we could do anything. It was great meeting you again after a long time. @Sajan.S was our only Absolute Newbie but after a couple of dunes became more comfortable and you drove superb for your very first drive ! Hope to see you soon again. Most hitch receiver that are for sale are 2 inch, for the explorer this is less so it might be a little bit more difficult to find the right type. We had a driver with us last year @Asem Rashwan who had below setup: You do not need the towball, but more importantly with this setup we can put a soft shackle around that middle shaft. Please have one installed before your second drive. @babaski @Arsalan Ehsan@Ishak@Bravoecho@Theo09@Abdelghani@Frans M@Quresh. @Stumpy Paj you guys managed whatever i threw at you like champs. We kept it on a gentle pace to make sure everyone was comfortable and we could enjoy the fantastic weather and scenery. I hope you all enjoyed it. @GauravSoni and his superb convoy arrived just after us, and it was great to see such a large group (25+ cars) all together and Carnity was in full strength that morning. Thanks again buddy for taking on the second convoy so everyone had a great morning out. See you all in the sands soon again !

600km off-road ? Fuel requirement is mentioned here: Fuel requirement: 6 Cyl cars = 100 Liter (Minimum) - 120 Liter (for more fuel-guzzling cars) 8 Cyl cars = 120 Liter (Minimum) - 140 Liter (for more fuel-guzzling cars) Carry an additional required number of jerry cans based on your car fuel tank capacity. As you have a V8 you will need to have a minimum of 120l of petrol (combination of gas tank + jerry cans). This is mandatory without exceptions. Of course if your main tank is already 120 liters then you are good.

Hi @LKPi installed the kill switch myself and took less than 1 hour. I used below video as guidance: Takes a tiny bit of soldering, but it's easy to do. I installed the switch below the steering wheel and used this model which i had lying around at work and had 1 Normal Open contact. Any type of switch will do as long as it possesses 1 Normal Open contact.

I recently lost my license plate in the desert, and was somewhat confused by the necessary steps that need to be taken in order to request a new one from the RTA. Below i will mention the correct procedure: 1. In the Dubai Police app, select "Lost Certificate" You will need to enter your Emirates ID details, a photo of the missing item, the location where you lost it (you can only enter a location in Dubai), and the approximate timing you have lost the item. Make sure in the dropdown list to select "NUMBER PLATE", and follow the steps where you will need to enter the license plate number, plate code, etc... Getting the report will cost 70AED, you can pay it online. Once submitted, it might take 12-24hrs to receive the police certificate that looks like this: 2. You will need to take this Certificate to the nearest RTA Tasjeel and show it to the reception counter. Now you will get a ticket number and will be appointed to one of the counters. After paying again 70AED, you will receive your new license plate.

My first off-road drive of 2023 started rather funny, with me getting stuck in an area with construction sand, nicely wedged inbetween two dunes. Thanks to @Fabien Monleau and a bit of shoveling, we could re-direct the car, and resume the drive within 20mins. The first part in Remah in an area named after the Racetrack dunes, were super virgin and we had a blast with endless loops and climbs. Everyone drove magnificent but as we kept looping in the same area, my initial plan to make it to Nahel was getting impossible. Eventually we crossed Sweihan road and had our fill in the fantastic dunes of Sweihan who were quite scarred with muddy crosstracks. I think we all had the opportunity to wake up our cars after their Christmas sleep, and we covered a good distance. When @VipinShetty announced he felt a bit queazy, it was the time to exit anyways so we took the dirt track to the Sweihan entry point. @Salim Akhtar you drove brilliant as second lead. Keep it up ! @VipinShetty i know the Grand Cherokee is a tricky car to drive, but you mastered it like a pro ! @Karthikeyan Govindarajan your experience shows on this drive, taking perfect lines and using the massive torque of your 4x4 @Daniel Rodas you are mastering the Pajero and the terrain wonderfully, great to see you drive like that ! @Jona I really love the FJ cruiser, and you take it through the terrain very skillfully ! well done ! @Dodi Syahdar as usual, in full control of the massive power, and with a big smile surfing through the dunes ! @Amr Aydin usually somewhere to be found in second lead, but this time all the way at the back Well done !! @Fabien Monleauyour presence is always re-assuring, and your eagerness to help is perfect for a sweep ! Thanks so much. Wishing you all a nice cloudy remainder of the weekend ! See you all soon !
