  3. DRIVE RSVP IS NOW CLOSED @Zixuan Huang - Charlie @GratefulKRD @kiranshinde @Marky B@Roy Armale @Mohamad Anwer @varunmehndiratta @Andrei @Daniel Rodas @hasan hamadeh @Melenany @Hisham Masaad Thanks for signing up for this drive ! The plan is to start in Mahafiz, which is an area that looks quite lush and green with lots of vegetation, but beyond that vegetation you will find one play area after the other. Once we had our fill in that area, we will move on to Faya, which is known for its size and challenging bowls surrounding it. We will be using Channel 1 for our communication: 446.006 Mhz. Please tune in when you arrive and start deflation. Please make sure to bring your Offroad gears. Without a flag you wont be allowed to join us. See you guys tomorrow ! I will be driving the Big Blue Pajero (Vanessa's car) as mine is in the workshop for some small repairs.
  4. Hi @Adhir Saxena i have added you to the convoy list. Please confirm if you can make it.
  5. On Fewbie level I think it’s too soon to make this statement. Climbing big dunes is not just about power but also about the proper technique of learning to choose the right line and approach momentum. A 3.6 Pentastar Wrangler has more than enough power to make it through.

  8. @Rajiv Sodhi @Kamal Dhanwani It was a pleasure to meet you on Friday and i was really impressed with both your driving ! Moving forward you all will be joining the Newbie drives and not an Absolute Newbie drive. Drives are announced every Sunday at 11 am, and they go live on Sunday at 7:00 pm. Due to the high demand, these drives get full in about 10 minutes, so please be online at 7 pm to book your spot. If you miss a spot, put your name on the waitlist asap. Generally, by Thursday with dropouts everyone does get a spot if they have waitlisted. For the next drives, please bring along a deflator, pressure gauge, flag and radio as a minimum. Learn to deflate your tires and checking them precisely Learn to fix a flag on your car Learn to program and fully charge your radio Also you can join the Carnity Whatsapp Drive Notification to get the latest updates on the drives, so that you can RSVP on time for the next weekend's drive. Please have a look at below topic which describes the tools needed for every level. There is a separate tutorial inside which explains which radio we recommend and how to program them: (Please do not buy the Baofeng 888S spare radio we gave you, as these cannot be programmed without a special cable and software). Please have a look at below grading structure that explains various off-road levels: See you all soon again in the sand .!
  9. Happy birthday Angela !!
  10. Thanks for the quick reply Juan-Peire. Don't worry about the equipment. For your first drive with us you would only need a pressure gauge. The "Xcessories" brand compressors are not that great unfortunately, but should last a couple of drives until you get completely hooked and then you can upgrade to something more robust (inflating 4x4 tyres from 15psi to 35psi takes a serious toll on compressors). Some info on compressors in below article:
  11. Welcome to Carnity Offroad Club @Juan-Peire Du Preez ! Kindly introduce yourselves and provide us the following info: 1) Which 4x4 are you bringing ? 2) Any prior offroading experience ? If so, where and when ? 3) Are the vehicle's front and rear towpoints available and in good condition ? Thanks in advance.
  12. Thanks for your reply @Rajiv Sodhi With regards to the radio, we can provide you with a spare radio for your first drive, but if you were planning to go to Dragon Mart today i can recommend the following models: 1) Motorola or Crony MT777 model (+/- 130-150AED). 2) Baofeng UV5R (+/- 75AED). You will find plenty models, but make sure it's a UHF model and the frequencies can be changed/programmed. (not the screenless models). In below topics you will find all information related to the radios, including the programming frequencies. Dragon Mart Off-Road Gear Shops - Off-road - Carnity.com Carnity Two-Way Radio Frequencies - Off-road - Carnity.com See you tomorrow !
  13. Good morning @Rajiv Sodhi @Kamal Dhanwani @Hazem Elsharkawi I wanted to highlight a few things before our drive tomorrow: 1) Please arrive on time or preferably a bit earlier. This will give us more time to assist you in deflation etc.. 2) Please bring a pressure gauge / tyre deflator as a minimum for your first drive. I would also recommend bringing a small compressor to inflate your tyres after the drive. There is a compressor at the gas station but its most of the times defect/out of service. You will find compressors in Speedex, ACE, Dragon Mart. 3) Please abide by our COVID19 rules by always wearing a mask when you are outside of your vehicle. 4) Watch the Absolute Newbie briefing video, this will be your perfect first introduction and contains all necessary information before heading out into the sand. MUST WATCH: NEWBIE VIDEO BRIEFING
  14. Hi @Kamal Dhanwani you don't need any ropes yet. Only from Intermediate Level onwards you will need them. Welcome to Carnity Offroad Club @Rajiv Sodhi ! Kindly introduce yourselves and provide us the following info: 1) Which 4x4 are you bringing ? 2) Any prior offroading experience ? If so, where and when ? 3) Are the vehicle's front and rear towpoints available and in good condition ? Thanks in advance. BR, Fred
  15. Hi @Roy Armale Larger tyres will indeed provide a bit of lift, but i find a lift kit more helpful for that as bigger tyres will now mess with your gearing. I do not understand your issue with LSD. The rear locker is only being activated in case you get stuck, so why would it wear out prematurely or cause issues ? E-Locker is more helpful for rock crawling where you would engage it more often.
