If you drive a Pajero, just pull the ABS relay. No need for kill switches. With regards to the Airbags, the main issue are the side airbags which are connected to an angle sensor and have the tendency to go off during off-roading but I don’t think the Pajero has them. The frontal airbags will not go off without any reason unless during a frontal crash where at that point they would actually be useful.

Don’t stare too much at the Hp and Torque values. This car is indeed meant to be a “soft roader”. Even a 2.7 Prado that hardly has more power can do wonders in the right hands, and that goes to show its not all about horsepower, but also how the car delivers that power to the wheels.

Wow this brings me right back to our adventure in February, and the moment i saw the drive being posted I told Vanessa immediately it was a Must to see and explore this area under the guidance of such a wonderful Marshal. Another flawless execution of a well planned drive as we can always expect from you @Asif Hussain ! See you soon in the sands !

Drive Report These chilly winter mornings are definitely something to look out for, and in the company of such an amazing group this makes it even better! Like i mentioned in the briefing there are so many different types of drives. I could describe this drive as a hands-on drive where all of you could showcase and practice your skills and where some shoveling, wiggling, and pushing was involved. We took off in the larger dunes this area had to offer and made our way further East with the intention to find some clean virgin dunes which we eventually found closer to the exit track. On the way there we had to cross some mild technical dunes that came with some crests, refusals, and stucks, but for a convoy this size nothing to serious. With an excellent second lead @frederic demolder, followed by a few Pajeronitees (is that a word ?), @Sai Baskaran @Nikola Bozovic and @Mike Kraher who are coming to grips with the fact that the Pajero truly is a capable off-roader in the right hands and at the right psi. Well done guys ! Friends @Bala Krishnan and @Santhosh kumar Rajasekaran who both drove well. Unfortunately towards the end the Range Rover decided to act up a bit, and disconnecting the battery a few times did the trick to get it starting again. As the engine was in limp mode most of the time i can imagine it wasn’t easy to try to unleash the full V8 potential. @Sanjay Malik who has been off-roading before felt really at home with the beautiful Land Cruiser, and @Paul Zeitoun took the Dodge Ram to new heights and lows with massive power and beautiful roars on the dunes. Well done ! We had a very capable Wrangler crew with @Aus Alzubaidi @Nihal17 @Luca Bregni but also some serious girlpower with @Sara EL FANIDI and @Kaile Barrameda Glad to see you back in the saddle Sara, you drove with full confidence today ! A big shoutout to @Mukundan Nair who decided to support this drive and was an amazing help to all of us. Thanks buddy ! See you guys and gals soon back in the sand !

Please follow the pinpoint I have added exactly and go on the dirt track for 50 meters so we are not mixing up the convoys. @frederic demolder @Sai Baskaran @Nikola Bozovic @Mike Kraher @Bala Krishnan @Paul Zeitoun @Sanjay Malik @Santhosh kumar Rajasekaran @Aus Alzubaidi @Nihal17 @Sara EL FANIDI @Kaile Barrameda @Luca Bregni @Mukundan Nair

Nivin has been promoted to Advance level
Frederic replied to Gaurav's topic in Off-Road Club's Announcements
Many congrats Nivin ! You’ve been a constant and loyal member of our Carnity family and always ready to help others. Totally deserved promotion !! -
I’ve seen these things being advertised but like mentioned what if you are crested on a dune ? As far as I’ve seen on the YouTube videos the anchor only works fine if you are doing a horizontal pull. In the case of being crested you’d be pulling on a sharp upwards angle and it would come straight out of the sand. On top of that all the YouTube footage I’ve seen were people stuck on places where I felt some shoveling and blip blip technique could have gotten them out easily.

As the end of this challenging year is coming to an end, why don't we all share our favorite Carnity photo with a small description when and where it was taken and why we chose it. Mine was taken in Al Qudra on 21st of February (pre-lockdown) where Carnity really started to take off with convoys of 30+ members (split-up) and we could see a glimpse of the success recipe coming at us. We are seeing @Wrangeld and @Jeepie, @Vanessa8580 @tjsingh @Jun Zamora @AKR @Predrag acimovic @Martin. @Mels Wolf @Nivin@Jolly Abraham @Febin Frederic @IMAMP @Mostafa Taha @Srikumar @Gaurav and others i missed out on. Please mention your name if i forgot you Back then, no one would have thought that 10 months later we would be doing 10 drives every weekend and become the fastest growing Offroad Club of the UAE. Where other clubs saw their membership numbers declining due to Covid and the poor economy, we witnessed record numbers every week which i think is a testament to the motivation and willingness of our loyal members to keep joining us every week to explore the deserts in our backyard and beyond, and to the supporting members in our team to grow with us ! Stay tuned for more adventures in 2021 !

For solo offroading the winch with an anchor (this is a big and heavy item btw) might only work in firm sand. If you are really stuck, or crested, the anchor will not bring any solution. Secondary, solo offroading risks is not just about getting stuck, but your car can break down, you can start to feel unwell, or many other possible scenarios are possible so rethink if you really want to go out alone. Burying your spare wheel in soft sand will take a very long time, and the climate in UAE is unforgiving.
