  1. Thanks for keeping this updated. This thread will become very valuable for others !
  2. You did well buddy ! You always stay calm and positive and that’s what matters ! It’s a pleasure helping others out and that’s what Carnity stands for. On the crest it’s better not too fight gravity too much. Steering towards the crest while the car wants to go down is a bit tricky and dangerous . Once you do more of those crests you’ll see that you just need to attack that crest a bit higher and faster so you’ll be able to ride it further and longer. Once the car wants to come down it’s better to point the nose of the car downwards and make your descend. See you soon !

  4. WTF was i pretending to do over there 😂
  5. I was in a massive crash between a Citroen AX and a Audi A6 Avant. I was the unlucky one sitting in the back of the Citroen AX. Came out with only few bruises while the car was completely wrecked. i guess sometimes you just need that guardian angel..
  6. Makes me cringe as I’m driving a 20y old car as a daily driver 😶
  7. 1) Way too fast for such a heavy vehicle full of passengers. 2) Tried to fight gravity by counter steering at the last minute, but made it even worse.
  8. I thoroughly hate brunches. You see people getting drunk which would have looked much better in the dark.
  9. Hahahaha Scotty Kilmer has come across here a few times already ! It's @Barry his favourite hack mechanic 😉
  10. Yes you need to be a legend to approach another legend 😂 Just kidding, you need to be Expert member and above to unlock PM from what i've seen.
  11. It looks as if he encountered one or two serious bumps on that ascend, which made him lose the momentum a bit. The sand indeed looks very soft.
  12. Personally i would not go above 8000 for a good looking Gen2 Pajero. This car has indeed low mileage and might seen little desert which is a good thing. On the other hand, once you start pushing them a bit you'll quickly come to see the flaws or defects. On the Gen2, verify if the 4x4 works properly by testing all modes (4H, 4HLc, 4LO, RD/Lock) in the sand. R/D lock can be tested by jacking up the rear wheels. If disengaged, turn one wheel, and the other wheel should rotate in the other direction. Once engaged both wheel will be mechanically locked together so they will both turn the same direction. If the 4x4 lights on the dashboard flicker it does not necessarily mean your 4x4 does not work properly. It could be just one of those stupid little sensors or solenoids and the Pajeros are a bit known for that. Most of these things are easy fixes. The 6G72 engines are simple, but i was unlucky when i bought mine. The engine misfired because one cylinder did not have compression. Engine was replace by a scrapyard one which lasted one year and then the head gasket gave up the ghost. After failing to find another decent engine we decided to overhaul the existing one. Now it runs great (touch wood). I agree with @Gaurav if you want a trouble-free 4x4 and don't want to spend to much extra money, go for the Xterra. I followed my heart and that emptied my wallet a bit more, but love the little bugger and would not sell it easily.
  13. Back home, I used to do my own oil changes and brake pads because i was too broke/lazy to go to a workshop. Basic electric repairs, minor upgrades, and diagnosis is something i am comfortable doing. I used to install high-end audio equipment in cars back in the days when i was younger lad. My expertise is mainly in industrial electronics/mechanics/automation stuff. Which unfortunately does not apply too much to cars But hey, common sense goes a long way !
  14. @syedyaseer there 's Pajero 3.0 SWB 2000 for sale here on Carnity:
  15. It's not easy to find a decent Pajero SWB 1996-2000 models anymore. Most of them have the 3.0 6G72 engine, which in most cases will need an overhaul after doing many GCC miles. They are however easy to work on and not complicated. (SOHC). The 99 and 2000 models are called blister-fenders, because they have the wider wheel arches. Most of them will be automatic transmission. If you want a 3.5 24Valve one like @Gaurav has, then definitely you'll need to search for a needle in a haystack. And be ready to inject some cash into them to get them running properly again.
  16. I've signed up for the Absolute Newbie and Newbie Level drive. With all the new members that joined the last couple of weeks it might be good for me to get to know them as i've been away for a while. At the same time would gladly assist in recoveries, popouts, or other. Hope that is fine.
