  1. DRIVE REPORT It's so nice when a plan comes together.... We had a compact yet very capable convoy today, and the first part was a Pajero convoy, with @Rizwan Waheed @Syed Raza Hussain @Anvar Sadath Bekal showing us that a LWB Pajero can tackle anything and go very far in the right hands. Well done guys ! @Aravind Padmaraju was on his first Fewbie drive, and got immediately thrown into a decent paced drive, but apart from some minor refusals, you did amazing and i hope you enjoy your new deserved level ! Towards the back we had a Wrangler crew with @siddharth maheshwari @Arun Mathew @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ easily digesting the challenges thrown at them. Amazing work guys ! @Atif was our trusty sweep, and handled the recoveries superbly. We covered almost 65kms and that says alot about your skillsets ! See you guys soon in the sand again ! Enjoy the festive holidays !! https://www.relive.cc/view/v7O9ypePBLO
  2. RSVP IS NOW CLOSED Please find your convoy numbers below. The plan is to cover a lot of ground by keeping a good pace throughout the drive. Exit point will be nearby Solar Park. Please make sure you have your offroad tools as per Fewbie level (shovel, flag, radio, deflation tools, compressor). See you guys tomorrow morning !
  3. Every Pajero, even the generation 4 has a central diff-lock (4Hlc). And the 3.8 models have the rear dif lock on top of that.
  4. I remember seeing this video before, and was thinking about how creative these guys are. These tricks would of course only be applicable in solo desert driving, where self reliance and improvising skills will be a part of the game. On the other hand, what they call a "triangular" is quite rare, in comparison with a straight crest (where these tricks would have zero effect). And also depends on the type of vehicle. I will tag @Melenany in here so next time with this superlong F150 he is getting crested we can try this 😅
  5. @Aravind Padmaraju i have removed you from the RSVP. (see message above). @topgear i have added you to the drive.
  6. There was a bit of fish-tailing but nothing major, and it is only with lots of practice and experience that you will be able to decide for yourself when a fish tail is too much. This is a delicate balance and depends on momentum, reaction time, vehicle type, terrain type, etc.... The side slope he did tells little to us if he is a skilled driver or not. Many Newbies or Fewbies have a capable 4x4 and will attempt the same thing, but the question will be if they will have the instinctual reaction to correct their steering when needed. From Fewbie+ level onwards this kind of sidesloping comes into play, so i do not think this was so crazy.
  7. Hi @Aravind Padmaraju as per my information you are still on Newbie level while this is a Fewbie level drive. Kindly remove your RSVP and select a Newbie level drive as per your preference.

  10. If you drive a Pajero, just pull the ABS relay. No need for kill switches. With regards to the Airbags, the main issue are the side airbags which are connected to an angle sensor and have the tendency to go off during off-roading but I don’t think the Pajero has them. The frontal airbags will not go off without any reason unless during a frontal crash where at that point they would actually be useful.
  11. Don’t stare too much at the Hp and Torque values. This car is indeed meant to be a “soft roader”. Even a 2.7 Prado that hardly has more power can do wonders in the right hands, and that goes to show its not all about horsepower, but also how the car delivers that power to the wheels.
  12. Wow this brings me right back to our adventure in February, and the moment i saw the drive being posted I told Vanessa immediately it was a Must to see and explore this area under the guidance of such a wonderful Marshal. Another flawless execution of a well planned drive as we can always expect from you @Asif Hussain ! See you soon in the sands !
  13. Never question the ability of your car. You will see other Carnity members on your drive very soon driving that exact same car and taking it anywhere. Enjoy every drive and focus on keeping the pressure at 13-14 psi throughout the drive. See you soon !
  14. Drive Report These chilly winter mornings are definitely something to look out for, and in the company of such an amazing group this makes it even better! Like i mentioned in the briefing there are so many different types of drives. I could describe this drive as a hands-on drive where all of you could showcase and practice your skills and where some shoveling, wiggling, and pushing was involved. We took off in the larger dunes this area had to offer and made our way further East with the intention to find some clean virgin dunes which we eventually found closer to the exit track. On the way there we had to cross some mild technical dunes that came with some crests, refusals, and stucks, but for a convoy this size nothing to serious. With an excellent second lead @frederic demolder, followed by a few Pajeronitees (is that a word ?), @Sai Baskaran @Nikola Bozovic and @Mike Kraher who are coming to grips with the fact that the Pajero truly is a capable off-roader in the right hands and at the right psi. Well done guys ! Friends @Bala Krishnan and @Santhosh kumar Rajasekaran who both drove well. Unfortunately towards the end the Range Rover decided to act up a bit, and disconnecting the battery a few times did the trick to get it starting again. As the engine was in limp mode most of the time i can imagine it wasn’t easy to try to unleash the full V8 potential. @Sanjay Malik who has been off-roading before felt really at home with the beautiful Land Cruiser, and @Paul Zeitoun took the Dodge Ram to new heights and lows with massive power and beautiful roars on the dunes. Well done ! We had a very capable Wrangler crew with @Aus Alzubaidi @Nihal17 @Luca Bregni but also some serious girlpower with @Sara EL FANIDI and @Kaile Barrameda Glad to see you back in the saddle Sara, you drove with full confidence today ! A big shoutout to @Mukundan Nair who decided to support this drive and was an amazing help to all of us. Thanks buddy ! See you guys and gals soon back in the sand !
  15. Attention: The Absolute Newbie convoy their meeting point location is nearby ours.
