On the night of Sept. 7-8, Earth will pass directly between the sun and the full moon in this year's second and final total lunar eclipse. Spanning more than five hours, the celestial event will peak with an impressive 82-minute totality phase, when Earth's massive shadow will plunge the moon's entire near side into a reddish darkness, earning it the nickname "blood moon." The plan is to have a meetup with max. 15 members to practice and enjoy the art of Night photography and learn from each other. Bring whatever camera you have and have a look at the advisable settings in your camera's manual or ask in the forum. After the event you can publish your photos in our gallery. What to bring: -Your camera or smartphone, a camping chair, and some refreshments. A tripod is recommended for night photography. -4x4 and deflated tires are required to be able to reach the location. Totally agree. I kind of have the tendency during faster drives to do a seconds count before switching over to the other side. Like this: .....approaching the ridge by going parallel... .... entering the ridge... .... counting 1......2.....3..... .....exiting the ridge in parallel way again. The 3 seconds count would guarantee that the car is fully stabilized and long enough on the ridge before exiting. For a little short wheel base Trooper that's usually all over the place on a ridge it assures me that i've been on the ridge long enough.

Seems like i've jinxed it.. no shovels today. I think partially due to the fact we only had one newbie with us, who happened to drive splendid the entire morning @Aringga. Of course you all drove superbly today... @Srikumar@J-P L@Paul Eldho@Theo09@Mike M.@Ishak@Dodi Syahdar Secondly i do have to admit that i like this kind of open terrain, south of Faqa. Even though we went through some technical patches, it's mostly meant for decent-paced drives while gazing at the horizon. @Frans M you were the perfect second lead, smoothening the tracks where needed and giving Aringga a heads-up at the appropriate times. We had some good fun in the bigger dunes just north of the arboretum, and occasionally some bumpy terrains, but that's all part of the game these days. I will start planning for a super-tech drive soon, where i hope the shovels will be on our shoulders all morning. As soon as it gets a bit cooler . Was great seeing you all today. Please arrive 5-10mins earlier so you have time deflate and setup your flag. That way we can hit the sand by 6.15. I have a drive plan that is long. Let's see if we can make it.
