Thank you all for joining guys! We started off north of Nahel, which had a bit more vegetation than i could remember from the past. It has been a while since i visited the area. As we had a rather sizeable convoy, it was at times a bit difficult to keep the convoy flowing, but you guys all drove amazing. Since we came to know there was some kind of event happening on the west-side of Nahel, i decided to head south and then east-wards, making our way towards Ghafeteen bowl through some narrow technical dunes that everyone managed brilliantly. With great support from @DP1011, @Zed, and superb second lead from @Luke K P, we worked as a tight unit and exited perfectly on time. The pace was perhaps a bit lower than what i usually do, mainly due to the large convoy that got stretched whenever we decided to ramp up the speed intensity. In any case i had great fun and hope you all had too. See you soon in the sands !

Yes absolutely. I don’t see us retiring from off-roading soon, but that’s why perhaps we can in the future transition the club into offering a plethora of activities. From hiking to cycling / mountain biking, wadi walking, fishing, and anything in between We just need a few people to take the lead. We have a club, we have members, and we have a platform. With such a fantastic community we can pull off many adventures.

Would there be interest for a monthly hike through the dunes, and occasionally even in the wadis coming winter? 3-4hrs, basic physical condition. We leave the 4x4 on the nearest parking and do a 3-4hr hike through the dunes. Afterwards a coffee or sitdown at the car or petrol station. Areas: - Qudra lakes and Last exit area - Faqa arboretum - Al Ajban - Fayah (AD) - Wadis and mountains From a sustainability perspective, we can assume that a convoy of 10 vehicles with petrol engines would consume around 400kg of CO2 on a typical morning drive (50km offroad). Being able to go out on a hike and still enjoy the dunes would improve overall health and save those 400kg CO2 as well CO2 emissions calculator: Calculate your carbon emissions | myclimate

Is Carnity primarily Abudhabi based?
Frederic replied to Giri_4x4's topic in Off-Road Club's Offroad Drives
Dubai used to be the place to be for off-roading, but the amount of vegetation in the whole Marmoom area (Qudra) has severely limited the free available areas for off-roading. Hence that’s why we do more drives now in Abu Dhabi (close to the Dubai border), Sharjah, and the scenic drives are all over the country. -

Congratulations to Team Desert Flyers for winning this year's Desert Champions Trophy! @Davie Chase@Gary F@Benjamin@Mark B@ChrisW This year, the famous Razeen desert has thrown all possible challenges to the competing teams. It was for each team crucial to find a perfect mixture of strategy, luck, skills, and teamwork on their paths. The sand was unforgiving, the bushes were spine-crushing, and the ridges were never in the place where they needed to be. During the challenge, which came with a hard six-hour time cut-off, most teams found their time running out due to various reasons. With adrenaline pumping through their veins, many teams had to rush back to the starting point to make it in time. For some this worked, for others it was simply a case of bad luck not being able to get back. Having said that, seeing all teams coming back without injuries and with a smile on their faces, it is clear you are all worthy Desert Champions! The feedback from all members who were on your teams spoke highly of their lead, the camaraderie and banter, and how much they learned in the practice sessions leading up to the championship. This speaks volumes of the qualities the team leads displayed and how their members followed them in full faith. Hats off to all of them @Looper@Davie Chase@Albertorres@Asif Hussain@JeromeFJ@Zed@GauravSoni Organizing this kind of event in a remote place was not easy. From setting up the tents, tables, food, water, and having people to help us out to take odometer readings and various other duties, my sincere THANK YOU goes out to friends like @J-P L @Simon D@Rob S who spent the long whole day in the desert with us and helped out till late in the evening. Without you guys we could never pull this event off! @Sohini, who has helped out so much in various duties the entire day and allowed us to enjoy a tasty lunch and dinner in the middle of the desert. THANK YOU! @Srikumar @Ale Vallecchi with doing recces with myself and @Gaurav to ensure this year was a proper tough one and we had several possible strategies for the teams. Lastly, @Gaurav who lives and breathes event management, and particularly everything where we can put our feet in the sand. You have pulled it off again and all the hard work paid off. You can be proud! We welcome your feedback and already look forward to next year's DCT 2025! Start calling your mechanic to book your car in advance 😁 Results.pdf

That is shocking to hear! A rebuild of the existing differentials will be more time consuming and costly I’m afraid. 2500AED for a pre-owned differential is quite steep, as I know there are several scrap yards that have them and literally thousands of Pajeros around. @GauravSoni and @Simon D might have some contacts with scrap yards. Let’s see if they can chime in.

@Albertorres@Asif Hussain@Davie Chase@GauravSoni@JeromeFJ@Looper@Zed Please find the much-awaited Desert Champions Trophy 2024 Waypoints, Borders, and No-Go Areas in the attached .gpx file. 17 Waypoints of each category have been scattered in the area. It will be up to you and your team to come up with the best strategy, followed by a flawless execution. 15 No-Go areas have been created. Do not enter those under any circumstance. New ones were added this year around farms and protected areas. Adding to this, be at any time mindful of animals, protected plants and trees, and farms. Outer border has been brought further inside this time. Do not cross it! We have full faith and trust in each team lead to perform this challenge in a mature and safe way. Respect the other teams as well. Any incident between teams will result in disqualification of both. All waypoints will be counted only once. Any team that returns to the starting point within 6 hours with maximum points (as per waypoint weightage) covered through their whole team GPS track will have the honor to lift the Trophy with the most distinguished title of The Desert Champions for the next full year. In case of a tie on points, the team with the least clocked kilometers will win. The average of whole team kilometers clocked per odometer reading will be used. US spec car miles will be converted to Kilometers. 1 mile = 1.609 km. All tracks are to be submitted via the Team Whatsapp group immediately after the event. Export them as a .gpx file and include your name and team name in the file. Good Luck To All ! DC2024- Rules and Regulations.pdf DCT2024 TimeTable.pdf DCT2024 WAYPOINTS.gpx DCT2024 Waypoints.pdf

Mitsubishi Montero Sport ATF Oil replace
Frederic replied to nairanoopc's topic in Mitsubishi General Discussion Forum in UAE
Will the normal parts center give you warranty if the transmission gets destroyed ? When it comes to automatic transmission fluid, ALWAYS follow the service manual and don’t deviate from it. There are specific additives required for some models of transmission.- 1 reply

KIA OPITMA 2016 US SPECS HARD JERK WHEN BRAKING
Frederic replied to muhammadaasif4's topic in Kia Optima Forum in UAE
Have you taken it to a dealer that can diagnose with a laptop? It sounds to me like a transmission issue, like it's jumping out of gear. When was the last time your transmission oil was replaced ? -
no need. in the GaiaGPS mobile app you will see a search field at the top. This field can be used to enter decimal coordinates or just copy paste them from another application like Google Maps into this field. Then you can save that location as a pin and select "Guide me" in Gaiagps, so you can use it as a straight line. Tell your friends to send you location once they have set up the tent and opened the cooler with drinks. 😁

This is not an easy thing. One option might be for the people who you are trying to find use Sportstracklive.com (website and app) and see if you can use the mobile app to track your friends their live position and use it to navigate towards it. I have not tried it yet but it does allow for live tracking.

Get the 440P. Fantastic compressor. I have the bushranger Super Max (basically same unit).
