  2. thanks a lot @Ale Vallecchi for all the guidance during your drives... see you coming Saturday Thank you Doc @Chaitanya D, Just remembered my first crest stuck with you on an evening drive ..thanks for your guidance...See you soon!!
  3. It was a smooth , flowing mid-week drive thanks to @Foxtrot Oscar and the whole convoy. Drivers in support roles @GauravSoni and @Hisham Masaad had no opportunities for getting out of their cars for any kind of support. Couldnt see much of @Pacific in 2L, as i was driving at second last position, but going by radio comms, the role was well executed. Echoing @Christopher Assal, see you all next Tuesday!! Hope Angela comes up with a similar drive ... obviously there is demand!! All were familiar faces except @Mus_hus78Mustafa who drove all the way from Abu Dhabi along with @Santoso Marjuki. Good to meet you ! Great display of commitment driving from AD!
  4. Thank you @Lorenzo Candelpergher...See you soon on one of your drives. I tried to squeeze tomorrows drive into my schedules but thinking of the traffic from sharjah to dxb at peak hour 9AM i decided to give it a pass.. Thanks @Lawrence_Chehimi, see you soon on one of the drives!
  5. Thank you Doc @M.Seidam, looking forward to the journey ahead!! Thank you @Abdul Rahman AK, @JeromeFJ and @Ranjan Das, Hope to see you and drive with you all shortly!! Thanks @Wrangeld, Yes it has been quite an experience over the past few months , right from the AN drive with you. Never thought i would even reach this level. Always thought of the uncanny resemblance of the words "Intermediate" and "Intimidating" !!
  6. Congrats @Lorenzo Candelpergher, your write up is truly inspiring, i must say !! looking forward to be on another one of your drives soon.
  7. Thanks @Zixuan Huang - Charlie... 😄 yes........ you are spot on - more or less...!! Thanks @Anoop Nair, See you
  8. Thank you @Hisham Masaad @Danish Mohammad, @Niki, @Russ , @Chinthaka Ruwan and @Rawad See you soon Thanks @Islam Soliman.. for your guidance and support
  9. A little late for the report here, but nevertheless, penning down something to give life to this thread for another day, before it gets buried in the archives So, it was a great drive with all challenges built in , the fiercest being the soft sand bowl with some tight maneuvers where i got stuck and needed a tug out, despite guidance from @M.Seidam and @marks, thanks for the support. and thanks to @Wrangeld for the tug, One snippet i learnt while the tug was getting connected - Richard chose to use steel shackles with the screw pin, along with the soft shackles and my inquisitive brain prompted to ask him why, as i have seen many times in this forum that steel shackles are not safe to use always. But then the clarification came that if we need to release one of the shackles under slight tension in the rope, a screw pin shackle would be the choice. so that was an eye opener for me, along with inaugurating my brand new recovery ropes and shackles. We rode some ridges, crossed some , past sabkas and offcourse some technical at the end to finish off in style. Thanks for the 2L @Niki, i was missing the Dad jokes from you and Richard after the infamous "condescending" drive we had ..didnt hear much on Friday !! @Anoop Nair @Adhir Saxena @Rawad, good to drive with you again, and see you soon!!
  10. Congrats @Lorenzo Candelpergher on your promotion and privileged to be on this drive..Eventhough i have done close to 40 drives with Carnity, our stars did not align until yesterday, combined with some magnanimity from Richard @Wrangeldto extend the convoy, to be on one of your drives. It was a great drive with low swooping bowls and some nice crossings, probably touching the higher end of newbie drives, in terms of difficulty, but the compacted sand, the route chosen and the convoy strength all combined, made it an absolute breeze. My 11 yo son's only complaint was that he was missing some action and there were no recoveries to see 😄👍! Going by other "Lorenzo" trip reports, his drive trademarks are pace and high climbs , and i believe @Lorenzo Candelpergher did a very good job in restraining himself and not letting the horses lose !!! Driving at the second last position, it was great to see the newbies do so well, although we tail enders had to negotiate some churned up (or was it "caked" up) sand. The drive was also a good opportunity to meet and greet some newbies, and i look forward to having more interactions with all. Thanks for the exemplary support @Alex Raptor and @darren thompson a.k.a "Rita" it is , after yesterdays christening ceremony ..penning it down here for posterity, lest we forget, and for a morning smile on our faces !!! Last but not least, a big thanks to @Wrangeld for his watchful eye during the drive , and his pre and post drive briefs, inspiring us!
  11. Congrats @Islam Soliman, no surprises here'!!! See you soon at your new level on one of the drives
  12. Hello @Ramandbx, i think i drive the same car, i find it very strange that the Jeep auto locked. In my experience the Jeep does not have any kind of auto lock, not even when crossing a preset speed like in other cars, for eg. my ford explorer locks all doors once it crosses 10kmph speed. The only possibility i can think of is that you/something hit the lock switch by mistake and the door was closed. When i bought the Jeep, for the fist couple of months i did not know the car's behaviour w.r.t auto lock , so i used to leave the door open, not wide open, but i would leave it "unlatched", just touching the gasket and then move around , like when you went for the briefing. Once i noticed that the car doesnt care about its locks i started closing doors fully.
  13. Congrats @GauravSoni....see you soon in your new robes!!! and looking forward to some support too 😉👍
  14. Congrats @Alex Raptor, looking forward to driving together again and to see you in action in your new role!!
  15. Well deserved and very well expected too...congrats @Alain Canivet-Abikhalil
  16. Great drive and route @Ale Vallecchi..like everyone, i also enjoyed the margham bowls at the beginning of the track..it was real fun and we should do it more often!! We were a real strong convoy, i believe, with no major stoppages It was one of those rare drives where @Hisham Masaad and his FJ must have felt under utilised 😁...thanks for the support along with @Alex Raptor As usual @Alain Canivet-Abikhalilhandled his role nicely, probably you must be holding a record in number of 2Ls you have done...are you keeping a count? 😁😁 See you all on one of the drives!!
