To be honest I don't know the Lumens, all I know is that when I switch it on I should see a second sun. It does that pretty well lol.

I ran by Toby's in Dragonmart today and he showed me some new 22" LightBar they have which produces an acclaimed 50K Lumens... at first I didn't believe him so I made him start it up... I know the guy pretty well so I told him I want to take it and test it for a day. Brought it by to my friend's place who has a 50" Rigid Adapt bar which produces approx 50K Lumens as well, we went to the open beach to light em up.. and this was definitely just as bright and shot a good 700-800 meters. I will be going tomorrow to give him the cash for it lol, China isn't messing around.

  2. TJ All the way! The 2007-2011 JK's have a really bad engine and struggle for power.

With a TJ you have an AMC Straight 6 engine which are known to be almost bulletproof and are very cheap to maintain and modify if needed. Yes, if you want something to drive daily also then the rattling in the TJ will be annoying, but its the perfect desert toy!

I would never buy a modified 4x4 unless I would know the owner personally and be sure he didn’t abuse it. Who knows it was flipped before or crappy aftermarket stuff is installed which can make it a potentially dangerous thing to drive.

Secondly, a beginner off-roader shouldn’t be buying a lifted or heavily modded vehicle. It will distract him from learning the skill and might even cause him flipping over if he doesn’t know about the higher  center of gravity on a lifted off-road car.

On top of that, if one can buy a bone stock Wrangler or Xterra that has only seen malls or kids seats and was maintained properly, than you’re certain that the mechanics on that vehicle are still ready for a second life in the desert. So I’d prefer that one.

There are exceptions to the rules and I agree that many off-roaders take extreme care of their cars, but I prefer bone stock and making my own decisions on what to install and for what reason I’d install it.

In Hindsight, you are absolutely correct about the not wanting a newbie driver to be in a fully modified vehicle.. that didn't even cross my mind!

  4. Hi Rohan, buy the second car... If possible try to find one which has been modified already! If its been used in the desert its okay as the previous owner has probably spent enough maintaining it. With the added advantage of saving money by getting it already modded. Any which ways, with older cars you will have a few issues so keep 5-7K just on the side to do any maintenance with it.

I'm sure you will get many different opinions as everyone has a different experience with how they have come to use their cars. Hard truth is that no matter what route you'll end up spending a good chunk of money.

Having a desert toy means its gonna rattle or make a few noises here and there, which is why always keep a comfortable daily/reliable commuter alongside. This will save you any logistic issues if one car is in the garage too.

    Hey @andy_macdxb!,

Welcome to the Pajero life :D

Gen 3's were only made till late 2006, if your car is a 2008 it is a Gen 4! This opens up a lot of computers you'll have to tingle around with, especially for the gearbox. Send a picture of your car so i'll be able to confirm if its a Gen 3 or 4.

    1. So you can either get a traction control kill switch installed (100-150Dhs) at your Garage, or there is an ABS/Traction Relay under the hood, I will post its exact picture in a while, just pull that out before off-roading and within 1km of driving everything should shut off.

    2. There is no ready-made aftermarket CAI (Cold Air Intake) in the market for the Pajero but what I have done is made a custom box and mounted a cone filter inside there. The Pajero's intake is already VERY high up and is amongst the best in the 4x4 world today. If you plan on crossing deep water above the bonnet, just buy and install a snorkel which can be found easily on Alibaba or Ebay Australia for reasonable costs.

    Cheers,

    Jas

I am attaching the Relay to pull and My Air Box, keep in mind with these filters is it important to make sure you buy a DRY Filter (Not Oiled) and after every drive you take it off and air gun it to remove sand.

Do you have separate damping and rebound control or just one screw controlling both?

I have no clue nor have I got any interest about setting up for off road but I could tell you how to set them up for road/track use, controlling over/understeer etc

    Hey!

Its 4 Way Adjustable, so I can control low speed damping and rebound as well as high speed damping and rebound. If you could explain that it would be pretty sick! Would lead me in the correct direction for sure :D

  8. Hey Guys,

So I'm trying to understand the concept behind shock tuning. Not to the level where you remove the shimstack from inside the shocks and change it completely, rather about the "tuning" knobs on the coiler suspension itself.

Top of the Line Coilovers come with DSC adjusters or Dual Compression Adjusters and I am trying to grasp my head at how you would want to tune the shocks in two scenarios: Road and Desert.

    1. High Speed Compression and Rebound

    2. Low Speed Compression and Rebound

Thanks for the Suggestions in advance!

    Cheers,

    Jas

  10. Hey Guys,

Everyone here is always talking about how to drive and the do's and dont's... For me each drive's mood is normally set by the Tunes I'm playing whether it be some wild switches or just a relaxed newbie drive.

I thought it'd be a good idea to share some of the songs that we listen to while driving, the language or style doesn't matter as I'm sure there's someone else who is gonna love it too!

    Here's my Top 5 Tracks:

    1. Waqqaberry - BÖ

    2. Fast - Juice WRLD

    3. Abusadamente - MC Gusta

    4. Love You Zindagi - Club Mix

    5. Jenaak B Hwaya - Nour Al Zen & Ghazwan Al Fahed

    What're yours?!

    Cheers,

    Jas

I dont have any wave card or app, just plain vanilla credit card.

Hope they have some security in place to not to charge any card at multiple locations in case its lost or stolen. 200 is not too much to risk.

This feature was launched after the release of the Tap function, of you remember before we had to give the Pin to the pump attendant or type it in. It’s considered safe as it’s below 200 Per Transaction (meaning I can swipe unlimited in amounts of 200 if the bank doesn’t recognize the pattern.) Banks nowadays have liability clauses in the contracts and if you file a complaint for a charge the pump number and time is noted so it’s very easy to track who was using the card without your approval.

For a moment I thought you have vibrations at 220 kmph, and I was scratching my head how come bro u cross the sound barrier of pajero at 180 kph.

Have you check air filter, engine oil, spark plug basics first?

Gaurav I doubt it can be the Air/ Fuel system, otherwise he would have stuttering and jerking even while driving.

I don't know how it can be mounts either.. because if mounts the higher the RPM the more it should vibrate... I had read something about this issue being with a vibration damper/ heavy counterweight at the rear of the gearbox. It's an easy fix according to the forums. Give it a shot?
