  3. Dear Desertnauts a short briefing before tomorrow's drive. We'll try to join a few waypoints from Sweihan's farms, moving first in a south-eastern direction across the wide-open cordons leading to the first sabkha crossing, turning south here, to cross a couple of more technical stretches of sand, then skirting Nagra dune (which I'd rather avoid to stay away from the heavy tracks that surely crisscross it in wintertime), before turning gently west, to reach the lower border of "Africa". We'll try to cover as much ground as possible, relying on the convoy's experience to make the right decisions, and move with good speed across the multiple and diverse segments of this drive. The convoy order will be: @Aser in Second Lead @Suneedh Wrangler at #3 @Abdullah A. at #4 @Ash S. at #5 @Yury.bel at #6 @Sam Selim at Center @Danie at #8 @Gautam Banka at #9 @Krinesh at #10 @Diego at #11 @Stumpy at #12 and @Bjoern in Sweep. See you tomorrow morning. Have a nice Saturday evening.

To make sure we cover that much distance we'll need to keep a moderately high speed, while making sure we apply all the off-roading skills at your disposal. Approximate finish time: 12:30 AM Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. 5. Dear Desertnauts. No special briefing for tomorrow's drive, if not for the road closures that are planned to allow a bike race to take place throughout Dubai. I will publish the list of roads that will be closed, and the supposed closing time for each location. Please note this info, and arrange to travel to Qudra's ADNOC station, where refueling should take place, in a safe and timely fashion. Delays and/or closure may also affect those coming from Abu Dhabi. Other than this, be ready to keep your hands on the wheel, and keep your arms busy with lots of steering, as well as your foot nimble with lots of breaking into small but soft bowls and accelerating out of them and onto the dunes' ridges. This is a very challenging technical drive that will take us toward the Solar Tower (AKA The Eye of Sauron), across one of the most complex fields of technical dunes in Dubai (and beyond). From there we'll ride back toward Qudra, across longer range dunes, and finally the Qudra's Secret Dunes. The convoy order will be the following: @Juan R in Second Lead @Riyad at #3 @khurram at #4 @Nabeel Abdul Rahman at #5 @Zahid Sharif at Center @Abdullah A. at Double Center @_Herman_ at #8 @Yury.bel at #9 @Ash S. at #10 and @Krinesh in Sweep. See you all tomorrow morning, hoping you have no problems reaching the meeting point. If you have any issues, please post on the drive's thread. Thanks, and enjoy your Saturday evening.

First a very technical part, from Qudra to Solar Park pylons to the Solar Tower (AKA the Eye of Mordor). Second, the way back, initially technical, will turn into a crossing of more long range dunes. Third, across the pylon track, a last stretch at higher speed in Qudra's Secret Dunes. We'll use everything: patience, endurance, ridge-riding, speed driving, crossing and side sloping. Enjoy!! Approximate finish time: 11:00 AM Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. 8. Dear @Abdullah A. @Taka @Nikki1007 @Raj K@Chema @Jinu Varghese @DG707 @Matt - monkeywrench @Jabir @Kushal Thakkar @Gunjan Jain @_Piotr_ and@Danie. Thanks for joining. See attached the drive's stats from Gaia (102.5 Km over a total of 5 hours and 4 minutes) and from My Trails (103.1 Km over 3 hours and 41 minutes of actual driving time, which makes for a moving speed of 28Km/Km hour). Grear drive all of you, and great help by the Fewbie Plus members
  9. Dear Desertnauts. Let's prepare tomorrow's drive. Our meeting and deflation point is here: https://goo.gl/maps/cTHmtYxAqW878k5W8 . This is located along the Faya Truck Road; please make sure you have a full tank of gas, and that you fill up as close to the meeting point as you can, depending on which area you are coming from. Also make sure you have enough water and/or other fluids with you. We plan to drive for no less than 4 hours, and there will not be too many stops in between, so have with you all that you need to feel comfortable. Please make sure you each have at least a functioning and fully charged radio. Given the number of members joining the drive, higher ranked drivers may not have enough extra radios for those who do not come with it, and/or experience radio failures during the drive. The drive will proceed almost in a straight line from the entry to Nahil, but we'll have the chance to stop at some scenic and interesting places: the "Den's Fox", Sweihan Pond, and Nahil Lakes. The necessary off-roading skills will be first of all concentration and endurance, some speed-driving on open terrain (not dangerous at all), as well as straight up and down dune crossings, some side-sloping, and descents from taller dunes and/or ridges. The convoy order at the moment will be the following: @Abdullah A. in Second Lead @Taka at #3 @Nikki1007 at #4 @Yanis BOUGHEZALA at #5 @Albert_Spa at #6 @Raj K at #7 @Chema at #8 @Jinu Varghese at #9 @DG707 at #10 @Matt - monkeywrench at #11 @Jabir at #12 @Kushal Thakkar at #13 @Gunjan Jain at #14 @_Piotr_ at #15 and @Danie at #16. See you tomorrow, with the kind request to reach at least 15 minutes before 8:00 AM, so we may leave on time at 8:00 AM. Have a nice Saturday evening.
  10. Dear @Danie and @Abdullah A. I will add you to the drive so you can provide support throughout the convoy. @Eddie-Dune-Glider for the moment I will not be able to add you, as the convoy is already quite overextended, and I have asked only the Fewbie Plus members if their were willing to help. If someone will drop out of the signed-in group, I will add (please stay on stand-by). Thanks for understanding.
  11. Yes @Gunjan Jain. No worries. See you tomorrow. Hello @Danie and @Abdullah A.. Would it be OK for you if I extend the convoy and add.you to the drive? Since I don't have any support team members joining this drive I would like to add a couple of more experienced drivers to help me.in case of need. Please let me know if OK with you. Thanks
  12. Dear @Andrei S. How are you doing? I have seen you are in the Waiting List for this drive, but I can add you to the Manage tab as part of the Support Team, if you confirm you wish to join. Please let me know. Thanks a lot.
  13. What is Overlanding? The term overlanding refers to a self-reliant overland journey that focuses on long-distance travel through remote areas. Unlike off-roading, which is more about tackling rough terrains for fun, overlanding is about the journey itself. Think of it as a road trip with an added layer of adventure — one where you rely on your own driving skills, equipment, and preparation to reach remote locations.

MUST READ AND COMPLY Environmental Policy Offroad Flag Guideline Two Way Radio Guideline Off road Driving Etiquette's Emergency details for all off-roaders Off Road Driving - Roles & Responsibilities First time with Carnity Off-road Club: Please share your vehicle details - Make, Model, Color, and Year. Do you have any prior off-road experience? If yes, pls share details. Confirm your vehicle has front and rear tow hooks/eyelets. Advise if you don’t have a programmable radio and safety flag. MUST WATCH: NEWBIE VIDEO BRIEFING Drive Details Level: Newbie and above (NO ABSOLUTE NEWBIES) Meeting time: 8:00 AM Meeting Point: https://goo.gl/maps/cTHmtYxAqW878k5W8 Action Plan: While many drivers aspiring to master off-roading in the UAE are looking to learn how to perform long climbs, side-sloping and dune bashing in general, the way most off-roaders drive worldwide is in the context of overlanding, often for days in a row, to cover long distances where no roads exist. Particularly in the deserts of Northern Africa, where sand is present (but only covers about 20% of the Sahara, for example), dunes are often driven along rather than across, endurance driving is more important than short-term showing off, and dunes are looked at with awe and respect, instead of being gutted and defiled. This drive aims to transmit a little of the passion for overlanding that will come in handy to those who will, one day, choose to cross long distances off-road. At the same time, since we will cross mixed terrains with mainly sandy surfaces, and we'll have to manage some crossings of dunes and bowls, we'll also practice the Newbie skills that are necessary to complete this and any other drive at this level (straight up and down crossings, side-sloping, and some ascents and descents). Covering 100Km is the main goal of the day, while having the opportunity to visit some beautiful areas, with pristine dunes, rock formations, a couple of natural lakes, farms and some local fauna. Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 12:30 PM P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive. LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE: This drive is limited to 12 cars only. RSVP will close on Saturday at noon. If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist. Once anyone drops, you will be moved to the RSVP list. RSVP will close a day prior to preparing a convoy list. Latecomers will be returned back - Without any exceptions. Members without RSVP will be returned back - Without any exceptions. 15. Dear Desertnauts a straightforward, yet not obvious, drive: 3 technical areas, each with different shape of dunes and vegetation, three large sabkhas, very wide, likely muddy, where high seed is of the essence, and a final stretch of clean dunes, from which the Ghost Roads emerge from the sands. We'll take a break on the second sabkha, where the skeletons of cars and containers riddled with projectile's holes are the remnants of a drones and artillery shooting ground. The meeting point is here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/hmQGeJAvLgvJxNmJ9 The convoy order will be as follows: @Jessica Lambert in Second Lead @Soap at #3 @Abdullah A. at #4 @Krinesh at #5 @Johannes Roux at #5 @Aser at Center @Diego at #7 @Ahmed Farouk at #8 @Giacomo at #9 @Hani crest king at #10 and @Mike M. in Sweep. You should be able to fill up the tank at ADNOC Service Station Al Razeen 128. See you tomorrow in time for an 8:30 AM departure. Have a nice Saturday
  16. Hi @Jessica Lambert. Sorry for seeing your email so late. Sure you are welcome to join. Please sign up in the Manage tab. Thanks a lot.

We'll cross 3 different technical areas, with diverse sand conditions and landscapes, separated by 3 large sabkhas, one of which is an old (we hope 😁) testing ground for military ordinance and drones!! We'll arrive at an old residential development, where the tarmac road grid had been laid out, and has been then half buried by the sand over time (another truly post-apocalyptic scene). Great opportunity to cause-play Mad Max, Fury Road. Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 12:30 PM P.S.
