  2. You have always been an "Angel" on any drives- leading or supporting. Now it gets even better as "Marshal Angel" - Angela. Congratulations @Foxtrot Oscar 👍
  3. Trip report: Cool weather with some rain was a perfect setting for your Absolute Newbie drive dear friends @Juan Carlos Elizalde Reyes, @Alfred Alinazar and @SP kALATH. We had a longer briefing after making sure all your recovery points checked, deflated and off we go. We drove lost of the part considering harder sand and a short convoy. We could make it to Richies bar and venture further into some tight dunes , when we had q stuck with @Juan Carlos Elizalde Reyeswho was recovered with some blip blip maneuvering and a tug by @Jeepie.Nice to see how you managed to do a manual crawl and a front and back pendulum movement to compact sand and come out of a soft patch under the able guidance of Carnity legend @Gaurav @Juan Carlos Elizalde Reyes good to see you complete your absolute newbie drive after few attempts. Great to see you have rectified all the issues with your car . Well done @Alfred Alinazar managed his Pajero well. You will get tons of information on the Pajero forum on Carnity related to your car ( ABS Kill, Transmission cooler, skid plates etc). @SP kALATH had some good experience before joining this mandatory drive for new members to the club. Very impressive how you have prepped your Prado and how well you drove. Good to know you have done the self declaration , and you will hear from us soon It was my first Absolute newbie drive with Carnity and was indeed a great experience. Spending more time checking cars , advising members at the start and making sure all was well at the start was quite a good learning. @Gaurav as my second lead corrected all my mistakes and you all were following his tracks as the defacto lead. Thank you for this and all the guidance along through the journey with this club. @Jeepies reassuring presence with great experience at the back even though with a short convoy was great and since thanks for supporting this drive. Some stats from the drive Please join the Whatsapp notification with Carnity to get regular updates on the drives planned Please have the mandatory gears required - Shovel, programmed Radio, Deflator, Compressor and a safety flag to join for the next drives. See you all soon, and best wishes for your journey further with Carnity!

Please bring along the off road gears you have if any like - Shovel, Radio, Off road Flag, Deflator and Compressor. Myself , @Gaurav and @Jeepie are the seniors on this drive to take care if there are any issues. Since we have 3 cars only it is almost a one on one session for you all lucky ones😊. We will be checking the tow points and some other basic stuff on your cars before hitting the sands. Ensure you come to the start point with a Fuel tank as full as possible. The nearest Gas station is at Al Qudra parking .Please follow the directions as mentioned in this thread to come to the meeting point. Kindly note that there is sand before and after the perpendicular dirt track from the tarmac at the meeting point shared. Drive along this dirt track to come to the meeting point. I will be parking my car ( Black Xterra) with hazard lights on along the tarmac for your reference, please drive ahead and take a right in front of my car. I will be briefing you all on the basics of desert driving, and then we will assist you all in a COVID safe manner for deflation. We will be using Carnity Channel 1 for Radio Communications (446.006.25). See you tomorrow sharp 6 am
  5. Hi Yes advisable to het your own radios to be Covid safe. You will get them at Dragon mart, or online at edragon mart. Baofeng UV-5R is good which should cost around 70 AED depending on your negotiating skills. In any case of you are unable to arrange or get one by friday, we will be providing the radio - but this is strictly limited to only the absolute newbie drive.
  6. Well done @Warren Flay, enjoy your much well deserved next level. I love the way you self recover in soft patches
  7. Noted with thanks, that's a lot of drives. Well done . More information to you in this link below. You can apply for your promotion to FB after you finish this mandatory Absolute NB drive with Carnity.
  8. @Juan Carlos Elizalde Reyes Noted with thanks, please ensure you have a proper spare tire (just in case). As per our previous feedback from the other marshals - please ensure your car is checked properly for any mechanical issues . We are pushing our cars driving on sand and hence it is always better to keep them well maintained with all fluids topped up. All our drives come with a disclaimer that as much as possible we try to get you out if there is an issue in the middle of the desert, but if it is beyond our abilities (as we are not certified mechanics) then we will be advising you to arrange your recovery .For sure you will not be left behind, but for your car😜 See you on Friday
  9. Always welcome and glad i could be of help Please get your tire which had a pop out cleaned and balanced for you to have smooth rides on highway cruising speeds - especially over 80 kmph
  10. Noted with thanks @Alfred Alinazar. Please read and click totally agree on COVID precautions in the link below. This is mandatory requirement Still awaiting response from @SP kALATH and @Juan Carlos Elizalde Reyes
  11. @PaoloMaraziti congratulations, well done. Love your drive videos with awesome music
  12. Trip Report: Always a great nostalgic kind of feeling coming back to this area around Pink rock where I first started my desert driving hobby with Carnity. It turned out even special this time around as I was driving leading a Newbie drive in the dark, challenging for everyone . Glad to see all on time , maintaining COVID appropriate behavior and ready deflated around the time as scheduled. @Foxtrot Oscar called out the names as we lined up for this adventure in the dark to scale up pink rock and further. We all drove with hardly any issues to pink rock, in rather quick time which was impressive as some of you especially at the front were less experienced . We took turns to climb the pink rock albeit safely, using the members who had off-road lights to lit up the rock which was quite a sight to see in the dark. Very nice videos recorded by @Ehab , @PaoloMarazitiand @Morshedi. We all enjoyed it as much as you did! Once we were at the top, I decided to make it thrilling and bump up the level a bit heading towards Big Red/ Badayer. This meant we will be venturing into softer sand and bigger bowls which are a bit challenging for the new members especially in the dark. As we drove that's when we started to have refusals and stucks in softer bowls where in getting out was becoming tricky. But with excellent support offered by CF @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ and @Alexander Alcala we were able to sort them pretty quickly. At one point on a soft patch @Ahmed Mostafa showed some great patience almost managing a manual crawl using the "blip blip" which was impressive. That's when the infamous Pajero AT light turned on on this car and we had to cool it down, and in few min Muhammed Kashif puller him off . I was personally avoiding this as we all , especially at newbie should learn the art of self recovery and stagger our recovery : 1st- Gears 4H/4L/Diff lock with steering maneuvers, 2nd Shovelings, 3rd - Rope Tugs, 4th - Winch, 5th - Other extreme methods ....last a chopper/bulldozer if nothing works🤣. Well done my dear ! Getting you all on tarmac took some time as we were behind pink rock which a bit bushy and with some rocks in between. Negotiating through meant we extended the drive a bit, but it was adventurous as there were some tight dunes and sharp drops which you all managed well. The wrangler bunch @Miguel Codes, @Ehab and @Morshedi did well to drive in the dark. The FJ bunch specifically put at the back considering some were more experienced FB and some had their masterclasses with the masters at Carnity - @Niekku, @Ahmad Shaker, @PaoloMaraziti, @JeromeFJ had hardly any or minimal issues which was great. @Abdul Rahman AK showed how well he can manage his Pajero even at the back and was always ready to help. Immense thanks to @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ, @Alexander Alcala and @Foxtrot Oscar for your support. @Danish Mohammad for being my 2nd lead and defacto leader whose tracks you all followed. We drove for around 27 km at a reasonable pace especially for the first half, and considering newbie drive in dark this was nice. Please apply for your promotion if you have completed the required set of drives and have the required gears for next level. Enjoy rest of your week, see you all soon
  13. @SP kALATH @Alfred Alinazar @Juan Carlos Elizalde Reyes Welcome to Carnity off road club. Please make sure you go through the drive post above and see all the preliminary videos there Get along the off road gear you have if any - like deflator, compressor , off road flag, Shovel and Radio. If not you can procure them by friday so that you can join drives further as these are mandatory gear required from 2nd drive on wards. Most of the items are available at Speedex/Ace/Dragon mart. All information is here below The Compressor at Last exit is under repair/extremely slow and hence better to have one so that you can inflate your tires upon completion of the drive. Please share - - what car you drive - Previous off road experience - Weather Front and Back recovery points/ eyelets / tow hooks are present and in good condition As a prerequisite you have to read and agree on the COVID 19 precautions in the first post on this thread See you on Friday
  14. Information on meeting point Please follow the directions towards the meeting point on Google if coming from D63, after passing through Qudra parking. Google should direct you there by default ( As in pic below) Once you arrive make sure you get on the dirt track exactly perpendicular to the tarmac as shows in the picture below ( drive along the along the red line in the picture below). Do not come towards the meeting point on sand before or after this .
  15. Happy birthday dear @Gaurav🎂🍰🍨
  16. @Danish Mohammad it was a single incident of losing the track of 2nd lead , and you saw what happened. We have made such mistakes and got better at them, and I am sure it will be the same with you . Learn and forget, you will be more focused next time around. But for this one incident you were flawless for the rest of the drive. Well done!
