  1. make sense - you need one for parts (or to carry the emergency supply of oil) Note to self: Never buy used car from desertdude!
  2. I have no idea, but somebody once told me a Jeep travels best (and never over-heats) when traveling on the back of a truck
  3. Thanks to the organizers again - after a long day and some challenges towards the end of the trip, they stayed patient and made the right decisions. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip - learned a lot about my car and what can be done in these dunes. And a fabulous sunset from Fossil Rock to end the day. I did find a convoy of 23 cars a bit of a challenge, as the cars at the back had some churned-out tracks to navigate - maybe around 10 cars in a convoy should be good? But great that the group is growing, with a LOT of activity on Friday. See you next Friday!!!
  4. Thanks for this post! I had a few close shaves already in the 7-lane roads of Dubai. After reading this yesterday, I have reset my side-view mirrors and tested them on my way home last night. For sure it makes a massive difference, but it does need some time to get used to (especially since it limits the distance in the rear that you can observe - which should be OK if you use the rear-view mirror more often).
  5. Why so cheap? Must have been in an accident
  6. Huge shout-out to organisers and marshals of this outing! It was my first trip with this group and thoroughly enjoyed it. Apart from the opportunity to learn in a safe and controlled environment, the community spirit was excellent. Well done all!
  7. Hi, Prado VX 2019; tow hooks perfect. Prior off-road experience, but only once in dunes (Toyota Academy)
