I am trying to visualize the situation and based on the pic and drawing my understanding is that the purpose of using the snatch block was for leverage and not force redirection.. so based on that understanding I believe the best position of the snatch block would be directly connected to the dead car (Snoop’s in the case), and the winch rope would go around the snatch block back to the winching car or another car as anchor.. this would give leverage almost doubling the force on the dead car and reduce helge stress on the winch .. can’t wait to play with this and apply to different scenarios when we meet
-
Me too although I don’t have a winch but very much interested

Exploring around Jebel al Harim - Oman
Islam Soliman replied to Brett Eicher's topic in Offroad General Discussion
I have done this several years back with friends including overnight camp and BBQ on top of Jabal Alharim.. with multiple stops at interesting view points along the way.. crossing to UAE back from the other side of the trail is not allowed for expats as @munkybiznesssaid so you have to turn back and follow same route through Khasab. P..S. If u are camping on top of Jabal Alharim make sure you have more than enough stuff to keep u warm at night and early morning hours .. it’s freezing cold -

Very well said @Davie Chase.. it was a fantastic day very well spent.. total driving of around 18 hours and covering around 700km with 150 on these amazing dunes. Prompt alerted 2nd lead of @Zixuan Huang - Charlie and having @Ranjan Das and you @Davie Chase at the back made me quite comfortable in executing the plan and pushing the limits four a normal F+ drive level on both speed and climbs. The great skills on the drive also helped me go even more bold specially on the last hour run to YT and all the way back to the gravel track thanks to @Zulfikhar Naiyar @Ashutosh Garg and @Karthikeyan Govindarajan. Despite of some moments of stress and heavy exercises specially with the horrendous 80m climb on that extremely soft bowl to anchor @Zulfikhar Naiyar’s stuck car on the center of the bowl .. outstanding team effort and safe recovery with no pain other the terrible burning muscles 🤪. The scenery with these red sand beautifully mixed with black stone formations here and there and clouds casting dark shadows on the gigantic dunes was a sight to be always remembered. I enjoyed every minute, the drive, the dunes, the recoveries, the lunch by the Yellow Truck and @Ashutosh Garg nice mini kitchen setup for freshly made coffee enjoying beautiful breeze and charging our energy to the second part to the exit, and above all your great company! thanks for making this day a memorable one and looking forward for a Back2LIWA drive soon InshaALLAH

Dear YT Worriors Tomorrow is a special day that every off-roader waits for from year to year and I can't ask for a better company to spend this special day with @Davie Chase @Ranjan Das @Zixuan Huang - Charlie @Karthikeyan Govindarajan @Ashutosh Garg @Zulfikhar Naiyar Please reread the drive post and the below points and ensure you check all required preparations to avoid any disappointment tomorrow InshaALLAH. A car-charging station for your radio is also advisable Please ensure everything in the car is tied down and there are no moving objects Please check tow hooks, and ensure no hanging parts below the chassis. Please all car fluids and if possible carry reserve. please ensure you come with a full tank in addition to 1 or 2 20L filled up jerry cans depending on your car consumption. Ensure all necessary gear for this drive level specially your proper ADULT size shovel, kinetic ropes, safety ropes, first aid kit, tire deflator, pressure gauge and a compressor. Enough water, lunch and snacks Briefing will be done on the sand before we start moving We will go through a thorough check during the briefing for all cars, but it will be too late to accommodate anything that can impact the safety of the convoy and we don't want to take any chances in such remote areas. Hello everyone.. thanks a lot for RSVPing to this drive which is not becoming a challenge as I hate to leave anyone behind. However it's neither practical nor convenient to all 29 cars in one convoy. In order to try and accommodate as mush as possible without ruining the fun for all, I ask everyone please to double check their schedule and in case of any change please RSVP out asap so I know who is in and try to fit in as mush as reasonably possible. Stay tuned for updates! Welcome to Carnity@karlsberg @LKP @Nicholas Cox1 @Klaus Pedersen @Ironclad. Due to no history for your previous drives with Carnity (other than WWD which doesn't count), this is considered an Absolute Newbie drive with Carnity. Accordingly appreciate your swift response on the below listed points: Please share your vehicle details - Make, Model, Year and Color. Confirm your vehicle has front and rear tow hooks / eyelets. Confirm your car has 4x4 Hi/Low gear Share details of your prior off-road experience, if any. Have you completed a Carnity Master Class before?
