  1. A short convoy gives the freedom to explore and push the level especially when you have experienced level headed guys behind the wheel! we had a quick chat and I gave them a choice of what they were expecting.. it seemed just going all out like kids in the park was the selection for the day! we started around 2.45 pm with a nice cloud cover , cool wind and absolute virgin sands! The uninterrupted flowing dunes of Nahel gave us a an “iftar bowl” - choice of maneuvers and angles to climb the ridges and side slopes. We perhaps climbed the multiple dune from multiple angles perfecting the move every single time.. @Santoso Marjuki your infectious smile and such brilliance in handling your car behind in close quarters is simply superb! All was going too well until I faced an issue with my car. We quickly sorted it out, however we agreed to not risk and exit out. In agreement we decided to let @Sunil Mathew and @Santoso Marjuki play around the area for some time. Considering we had good experienced drivers, I decided to let willing driver @Sunil Mathew to lead the convoy out to the exit track. you navigated quickly with smooth tracks to exit us all out! it was an absolute pleasure leading two amazing drivers in an amazing terrain! Hope to see you guys soon!

  8. Congratulations @Simon D! Your journey has been a perfect example of hard-work, determination and an ever learning positive mindset that you now will be imparting to the future leads! Well done and looking forward for your drives!
  9. Congratulations @JeromeFJ truly deserving! This is testament to your dedication and leadership! Cheers to many more drives!
  10. Removing the pedal commander is one sure way of fixing the issue..I used it for about 2 months and then it started throwing this error.. tried different things and contacted the seller as well… didn’t help much and ended up disconnecting.. to be honest it doesn’t really help in the dunes.. and on the contrary , you will have to switch to eco mode during self recovery as sport + ends up digging!
  11. If you start to fishtail (drift) on a slope, it’s a sign that car wants to go down the slope… you need to let go of your throttle and correct your steering angle to regain control…this is what we expect all convoy members to practice at lower levels… once you become comfortable with your car and have gained valuable experience, you will observe that once the fishtail is corrected, we use throttle and steering control to keep riding on the slope to finish the maneuver… full throttle may only be required to reach a height on the dune… after that it’s all about control..
  12. After absorbing detailed explanations, I'm compelled to share my own experience. Over three years of navigating my Pajero across various dunes in the UAE – from Lisaili's technical terrain to Sweihan's flowing dunes and the formidable Liwa. Never once did I switch to 4L for climbs; always in 4H, transitioning to 4H with a locked center diff in slow, technical, soft sands. As @Gaurav @Frederic rightly puts it, driving is about fun and adrenaline, and the choice between sheer power, skill, or a combination is yours. Different clubs may have different philosophies, but having tested various approaches, I've found serenity in what works for me and hopefully you shall too! @Josh S
  13. i am not in a physical state to lead a full day drive through one of the most exciting terrain… and it would not do any justice to this drive. Please note that we will be rescheduling this drive for another weekend to be announced later.
  14. Guys m down with flu and fever..getting checked with the docs now.. hoping to get well by Friday morning… if I don’t feel better by that time, we may have to reschedule this drive on a later date… will keep you posted!
  15. dune surfers! @Gok Krish @Gertjan @Joseph Raju @Salim Akhtar @DP1011 @Jorge Stepniak Felippe @Imran Kashif @Mohit Gurnani @Bashar Beasha @Naveen Raj welcome to another adventure in the speed sculptures safari through the mesmerizing terrain of Al Wagan! The drive is intended to pass through some of the famous bowls and dunes where we will have our fair share of adrenaline rush. please note following 1. Your car is in top notch condition. Make sure you have fixed any known issues and have driven for a few drives after with no breakdowns. 2. You have been on sands driving at IM level. This is for your own safety. I would suggest reconsidering if you have been out of sand for more than 3 months. 3. You are in sync with your car. you understand your car and understand its limitations and strength. 4. carry additional fuel (based on your car tank capacity) as we would be covering close to >120 km. 5. Have necessary gear (including tow rope with 2 soft shackles) and spare Tyre in good condition. 6. No passengers In view of the weather conditions expected on this weekend, the meeting time is now shifted at 8.30 am And ready to drive at 9 am. please do not keep any appointments for the day.

  18. A simple solution is to get a lanyard and put it around your neck… fast closer to hand, no loosing during sticky situation… it will always be on you.. in or out of the car!
  19. Dune surfers! please note that you will need to come to this point first https://maps.app.goo.gl/zgcyGuGRWo5csCE26?g_st=ic and then drive up to the meeting point… it’s a dirt track but has couple of dunes… remember to put on 4H… I am stationed here https://maps.app.goo.gl/TPtFYwhPCB2oqAUeA?g_st=ic
  20. @Zed @Imteeaz @munkybizness I will add you guys to the drive… let me know if you. Are up for it!!! Please confirm
  21. This is recommended since safety is top priority! You have waitlisted on the FB+ drive which is a good step. There are always dropouts in the last few days or hours as well. Hang in there!
  22. Hi @H3 Joe .. I see that you have a big time gap in your drives.. if you are getting back on sand after some time, I would advise you to start at 1 level lower (at FB +) that your current rank (IM).
