@Wrangeld & @Nivin: Many thanks for the amazing drive. I really enjoyed it. I just wished I could have managed with the recovery...anyways we can summarize it as a great learning opportunity. Special thanks to all the members of the convoy for exhibiting such great team spirit and patience during the full duration. Just to let you guys know my car did not overheat again - will surely investigate this issue further and share on the relevant forum. Thanks and see you guys next time !! & Belated Happy Birthday Richard🎂

@Warren Flay just out of curiosity what gears were you using or rather which gear did you maintain consistently? -
Overheating Transmission, Pajero 2008-2020

- 2018 3.8 LWB - PSI 14 all round Driving on tiptronic. Was on my 2nd drive today and faced overheating twice. Had to drop off from the drive after 70% of completion (disappointing). Initial half I was in tiptronic and faced heating during a refusal. Moved to D mode thereafter under guidance of @Wrangeld. Drove for a bit n then got the sign again. After second round of cooling it was fine however by then it was time for me to drop off. Not a subject matter expert but maybe my gear shifts were not ‘ideal’. -
@Foxtrot Oscar , @Mohamed Seidam & @Rahimdad thanks for the warm welcome. Really looking forward to learning from the club members and their experiences and eventually giving back to the community. @Rahimdad bhai surely we all need to respect the restrictions to win the battle against COVID-19. I’ll hone up both my off road skills and flying and hopefully once things get better will get a chance to take some great images/ videos of the group and trips.

Hi All, My name is Jeetu and I joined the club only last month. I am originally from India but have grown up in this lovely country UAE. I have seen its evolution over the past 30+ years from a point where Dubai World Trade Center was the tallest building (in Dubai) to becoming this marvelous country with amazing man made wonders. The desert was always a place that intrigued me but never got around to venture it. By joining Carnity I feel I have joined a fabulous community of people and I am going to enjoy and learn at the same time. Have done my Absolute newbie drive with @Srikumarand have to confess that it was one of the most enjoyable experiences I have had. On a professional level I am a Marketer but on personal level still I am exploring the drives of life. Apart from the desert bug (alleged), I am also a drone enthusiast and look for opportunities to get that birds eye view of things.

Xterra replacement stereo, GPS system advice
Jeetu Sharma replied to Foxtrot Oscar's topic in Nissan Xterra Forum in UAE
@Niki Patel That's a very well thought of analysis I must say. I had struggled with this dilemma when I was on the lookout to replace the stock head unit on my Pajero. My final two choices were Pioneer and Sony and took the plunge with Pioneer. Must say one of the nicest decisions I have made as the unit is solid with all bells and whistles. Compared to what Mitsubishi offers in their showroom or the android units available I would strongly suggest people to stick to known brands as they respond well with both iOS and Android. The sound quality has also improved compared to stock due the built in amplifiers and settings on these units. Key to watch out for those using android is that AndroidAuto is not available in UAE officially so the playstore will not offer it -
@Srikumar Thanks for sharing the details. Will follow the given guidelines. Just had the following query regarding walkie talkie 1) I have a Baofeng (UV-5R) walkie talkie and have followed the instructions to set all the channels as provided. Only concern is that when I follow step #7 I get voice message that channel stored under Transmission mode. On Step 6 its receiving mode but on pressing Menu twice it saves as Transmission mode ---- is this OK?

Hello @Srikumar & Fellow members, I am Jeetu and first time joiner (obvious one ) to this drive. Drive a 2018 Mitsubishi Pajero-LWB. In terms of off-road experience, none practical but I have taken introduction to off road at Galadari (1 Hour class) a few months back. Based on my limited knowledge the front and rear tow points are in perfect conditions
