Good afternoon everyone. Hope you are excited for our afternoon drive tomorrow. We have experience FB and above drivers so the briefing will be concise and we'll be moving shortly after 2 pm. It should also be a fast moving convoy as a result of the experience. Please let me know and remove yourself from the RSVP if your plans have changed. I'll be posting the convoy order in the morning.

DRIVE DESCRIPTION - WHAT TO EXPECT We’re organising a scenic and moderately challenging off-road drive from Murquab to the Secret Dunes of Qudra, starting westward before moving northwest. This route offers a great mix of terrain—perfect for those looking to build confidence in the dunes while still enjoying a bit of variety. We’ll begin with soft, rolling dunes that are ideal for warming up and getting into the rhythm. As we progress west, the dunes gradually increase in size and complexity, offering a fun challenge without being too technical. Around the midway point, we will encounter some sabkha flats—likely where we will take a break, depending on the conditions and timing. As we head into Qudra's Secret Dunes, expect more varied terrain with scattered bushes and camel grass, until we see the open dunes ahead of us for the finale part of our planned drive. Looking forward to seeing you out there for a safe and thrilling desert adventure! Please read, understand, and follow the guidelines, etiquette, and responsibilities below. ⚠️ IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND COMPLY Environmental Policy Offroad Flag Guideline Two Way Radio Guideline Off road Driving Etiquette's Emergency details for all off-roaders Off Road Driving - Roles & Responsibilities Convoy Off-road Drives - Safety protocol during emergency alert 🕖 DRIVE DETAILS Level: Fewbie and above When: Friday, June 5, 2026 Meeting time: 2 PM (Arrive 15 minutes early to get setup as the briefing will start promptly at 2 PM) Meeting point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/vgmQVN1suNhcVRQ57 Approximate finish time: 6 PM 🚗 VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS Any proper 4x4 vehicle. Newbie Drive Report – Faqa to Bab Al Shams Thank you to everyone who arrived early and were ready for the 7:00 AM briefing—great discipline and much appreciated. This was a newbie-heavy drive, including @Esteban Ayala's first Carnity drive—welcome! I hope you had an enjoyable introduction to desert driving. Welcome back @Rajath Shetty and @Ghaithh after a break. Hope you had some fun while getting used to things again. We supported a few of you during setup with tips to improve performance, including guidance for Pajero drivers on managing ABS/traction systems. @Mariem and @Pramod Sathyaseelan, please take time to learn your Prado and Fortuner offroad features (especially 4L and diff locks if you have them) to build confidence. We started with a gentle warm-up through Faqa, heading west through slightly bushy terrain. Some drivers also practiced hill climbs with Aser’s guidance—great effort refining control and cresting technique. Followed by a break on the sabkha. Entering a different dune patch, we encountered very soft, technical sand, where you all handled stucks and refusals well as a team. I also needed a hand with some shoveling to get me moving again. We exited and continued along the sabkha edge dipping in and out of the dunes here. We saw plenty of camels and gazelles here too. The final dunes were again challenging, but you managed well, with good teamwork and learning throughout. After a Prado transmission overheating stop, JP and I ventured forward and found a nearby track ~400m north, giving us a quicker exit as we were running late. From there, we overlanded smoothly to Bab Al Shams. Thank you @nitesh for a good Second Lead and for @Aser Support in the back as Sweep. You were pretty busy yesterday. Overall, a high-learning drive—well done for your progress, teamwork, and perseverance. Looking forward to the next one! Here is the track we made together yesterday. You all should be proud of yourselves. That was some drive yesterday. We covered an amazing 70kms and saw some nice parts of the desert here.

Congrats on the well-deserved promotion @khurramm. -
Good morning everyone. Hope you are excited for tomorrow's desert adventure through Faqa and Qudra. I'm also looking forward to meet our new club members for the first time. I'll be posting the convoy order later this afternoon. If your plans have changed, please remove yourself from the RSVP. @Lukas Wii - you had signed up under the Manage tab, which is for Support Team and drive Leads. I will have to remove you from the drive and add you back. No need to be worried about whether you are on the convoy or not. You are going unless something comes up for you and you have to take yourself out of the RSVP.

Well done @_Herman_. It's been a pleasure to see you grow in confidence, competence while having a calm demeour. Looking forward to driving with you again soon. -
Is anyone using DaVinci Resolve and can comment on free vs. paid versions? Any decent other options used by our community? I had been using CapCut for post export production but would like to explore options used and recommended by others.

POST DRIVE REPORT A great Fewbie drive yesterday—thank you everyone for being ready and arriving on time (with the exception of JP, who took a slight detour to a nearby meeting point by mistake 😄). Despite that, we were rolling by 6:49 am. After a short sabkha drive, we entered the desert and explored a completely new patch of dunes I hadn’t covered in any of my previous tracks. It turned out to be a fantastic find—open, flowing dunes with minimal vegetation, making for a very enjoyable drive. Definitely a spot we’ll come back to. We took a short break near the next sabkha before tackling a more technical and, at times, nasty stretch of dunes. This section tested everyone a bit, but overall it was very well handled—only a few minor refusals and ridge slides, all quickly managed. Well done to all of you for keeping composure and applying the right techniques. With time still on our side, we made our way to the Qudra Secret Dunes for some additional fun and flowing driving to round off the morning. A special mention to our newest Fewbie member, @Sam76, who had a solid drive with some valuable learning moments along the way—exactly what this level is about. The key takeaway remains the same as in the briefing: follow good lines and stay focused. Well done to @Ash S. for a strong performance as Second Lead—thank you. Thanks as well to @J-P L for support with refusals and stucks as Centre Forward, and to @Rob S for support with stucks and watching the rear and keeping us updated throughout. It was also great to have @Looper back after a break since summer 2025—welcome back, you were missed, and glad you enjoyed your return drive with us. I still remember the famous Looper Loop you made for us on top of Badayer. What a masterpiece that was. And welcome back to @Mahesh_ —hope you enjoyed getting acquainted with your new car out in the dunes. Thank you all for the teamwork and positive energy that made this drive as enjoyable as it was. Have a great week ahead everyone, and see you on the next drive! 🚙💨 Here are the stats and track from our drive. We covered an amazing 57 kms and the elevation profile reminds us we had a lot of short to medium hill climbs and descents.

Always a pleasure to have you on a drive. This sounds like it was exactly the kind of drive you needed. For that I'm happy. We had some good fun yesterday. It was a pleasure to have you back and on this drive! I'm very happy the Loopers Loop worked out as well as it did considering you are the master of these maneuvers. Like I mentioned, a lot of people were asking for you over the last year and will be very happy you are back! I'll be looking forward to joining one of your drives again soon.

Hello everyone, Hope you all had a good week and are looking forward to getting away for part of the weekend with us. We have a full convoy and a wait list for Sunday's morning drive. If your plans have changed please remove yourself from the RSVP. I'll be reviewing the RSVP tomorrow and will likely add the current wait list. So if you are on the wait list now and your plans haven't changed, plan to join us for this drive. We have some amazing talent signed up to help manage the convoy so a little longer convoy will still be fun.
