Drive Report – Tawi Nizwa to Pink Rock to Big Red | My 100th Drive & A Special Day What a fantastic day out in the sands! Today’s Fewbie drive from the majestic dunes of Tawi Nizwa, through the iconic Pink Rock, and ending at the legendary Big Red turned out to be nothing short of a 5-star Carnity experience. Everyone drove exceptionally well — smooth, focused, and in great control. We had no recoveries, just a few refusals and second attempts, which were handled swiftly and safely. It was a pleasure to see the convoy moving with such rhythm and confidence. A huge thank you to my Second Lead, @vinayak n, for following my lines so precisely and making last-minute route adjustments. Your support and focus was appreciated. Thanks also to @Senthil Kumar in Centre Forward and @Andrew John Melvill in Sweep — your help with refusals and keeping the convoy tight and together was much appreciated. It’s always a team effort, and today was a perfect example of that. Most importantly, thank you all for being part of some truly special memories. Today marked not only my 100th Carnity drive, but also my wedding anniversary, and I was honored to have my wife join us for this milestone. Your warmth and friendliness towards her truly reflect the spirit of Carnity — where we drive hard, support each other, and celebrate together. We also shared some Tim Hortons Tim Bits after our briefing and during one of our breaks. Tim Hortons is Canadian and something I'm fond of from back home. Glad so share some sweets with all of you today to mark the occassion. Wishing everyone a great weekend ahead. Looking forward to seeing you all on the next adventure! @vinayak n and @Myrko – please share the links to the videos from today. I’m still trying to convince my wife to let me buy that 360 camera 😄 — Emanuel Here is our track and stats from todays drive. We had good fun didn't we!

Desert Explorers! A huge thank you to everyone for arriving on time and ready for our briefing. We hit the sand at approximately 6:25 am, tackling a mix of challenging terrain that put our skills to the test. Overcoming Obstacles I had the, ahem, "honor" of getting our first stuck, on a bush - who would have thought?! 😂 Fortunately, our team worked together seamlessly to get me out of that sticky situation, and I was able to drive over the bush with ease. However, our convoy didn't escape without a bit of drama - a pop-out incident occurred right after this, requiring some careful maneuvering and teamwork to resolve. Kudos to the team for delivering top-notch service, Carnity 5-star style! Technical Dunes and Teamwork As we headed west-southwest towards the sabkha, we encountered some tricky technical dunes that demanded precision driving and expert navigation. We had a few minor refusals, but our team sprang into action, supporting self recoveries with minimal support. Great job, everyone! Break and Direct Route After a well-deserved 15-minute break at the sabkha, we adjusted our route to head directly to the secret dunes of Qudra, given our time constraints. The dunes proved to be a thrilling playground, with a crested car to recover and the occasional refusal. We put our trusty shovels, ropes, White Rhino lift board, and scissor lift to good use. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work I'm thrilled to see everyone working together, supporting each other, and showcasing their skills. Special thanks to @J-P L for your support in the Support role - it was your first time, and you nailed it! 👏 @Jose Luis Campos, your expertise as Second Lead was invaluable; you followed my lines perfectly and maintained a safe distance to react to changes. 👏 Wildlife Sighting Herman, can you share the final count on the camels and gazelles we spotted? 🐫🦌 Conclusion You all drove exceptionally well, and I'm proud of the teamwork and camaraderie displayed throughout the drive. Let's keep learning, growing, and having fun together! 🚗💪

Approximate finish time: 10:00 AM P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive.

Join us for an exciting offroad drive starting near Lisaili, opposite the truck stop area. We'll explore long-range dunes between the camel practice track and Margham farms, with minimal vegetation and likely camel sightings. The route follows the pylon track, crossing into the Qudra Lakes area. Expect a couple sets of technical dunes near Love Lake, leading to a stunning white sand zone with no bushes and frequent gazelle sightings. We'll navigate northward through this scenic stretch, ending just past Love Lake near Qudra’s Last Exit.
