  1. Hi @Simon D, thanks for the update though sorry to hear about the damage. This usually means a lighter wallet. See you next time on the sands.
  2. A screw driver did the trick to lossen it all up to get balance back. Speed limit again after that. All that sand looks like my parking spot. 😂
  3. Thanks @Ale Vallecchi for another interesting and exploration kinda drive around this area. Second time here in as many weeks. We saw many interesting things and a couple of unfortunate ones like the Jeep that rolled over, thankfully he was ok and his friends were towing it out. With the terrain at times forgiving yet others weren't with very soft patches here and there and others we couldn't quite see well enough to know what was starring right at us because the sand was so bright. You did great getting us around the various fences and eventually over to see Sweihan Pond. We have to take what she gives and make the best of it sometimes, and we did a great job of it today. Good to see you again @Rob S and thanks for supporting the drive. It was a good team effort up there helping @Andrew John Melvill from that last refusal. @munkybizness I think we met on a drive last year or the year before. Thanks for sweeping our drive. As always, good to see and chat with you again @Marek. One new thing I learned today as I was starting my drive home. The car was wobbling and I went to the Sweihan petrol station to check my tire pressure and all was good. Felt too tired to bother hooking up my compressor again. Still wobbled on the way home so I stopped on the side of the road to have a better look at things and found about half the mud flat stuck inside my rims. I was loosening all that up when @Sreenath G pulled up to check on me, Thank you for that. 👏 Have a look at all that sand from one tire...
  4. Hi @Simon D, hope you are well. I'm really looking forward to my first IM drive. However, I'm wondering if you may cancel this drive because there are only 3 of us on your drive. Please let me know if that might be your intention if no other IM drivers come or if there is a drop-out. I have waitlisted on @Islam Soliman's drive on Sunday just in case you cancel so I have at least one drive on the weekend. Haven't driven with him or on a Newbie drive in quite some time. @Islam Soliman I am looking forward to driving with you again my friend, however, my wife has plans for us on one morning this weekend and it can be Sat or Sun. If the IM drive goes ahead I'll withdraw my waitlist and if it doesn't then it would be great to join your drive if possible on Sun.
  5. On a final note, next time I'm up front somewhere I'll mount the camera facing the back for part of the drive so we can get more action shots of us making our way. Have a great week ahead and see you on the sand next time.
  6. Thank you @Ale Vallecchi for a wonderful drive with a good mix of terrain, camels and @Luke K P that was Ale and I that saw the lizard. It was a good size and speedy. Thanks @Stumpy for helping me with the stuck gear shifter. As you disassembled the top part it was obvious that the plastic sleeve broke inside, exactly one of your estimations of what went wrong when I pushed it into park that one last time. Your experience came in very handy yet again. Carefully using the white plastic part I was able to shift gears and finish the drive. This was a good thing because Ale has said we were quite far from any exit point. This also gave me some long overdue practice driving in Drive because I have gotten accustomed to using Tiptronic. @Stumpy - thanks for the Pajero parts guy tip. He has this part in stock and will only cost me 25 Dhs. Good thing too because the Mitsubishi parts department is closed until Saturday and I want to get a couple of drives in this week. I'll see about replacing that missing dust cover though I think its just broken apart inside. Here is a fun compilation feature video of our drive on Saturday. If you enjoyed it please visit my YouTube site and smash the Like button. Here is the raw footage with all the action, sound and commentary. Sorry @Luke K P the lizard was too quick to get shot of it.
  7. Congratulations @Wilfredo Perez. You are well on your journey now.
  8. @Marek switching to Cooper Discoverer AT3 from H/T was a very noticeable improvement on the sand. Though I found out later that it is a heavier tire and made some long hill climbs a little shorter for me with a sooner exit than other Pajero's. I have read a lot on the forums and saw several reviews on YouTube about different tires and the GO15s are likely a better choice for me as I do a lot of highway driving too. Already noticed a much quieter drive at <120 kph. I'll know for myself about how well they'll do in the desert next time I'm in the sand.
  9. Inspiration for my paj. Looking good and looking forward to hearing about the finalisation of formalities.
  10. That is a big sand scooper. 🤣 You weren't alone at the shop my friend. On the way home the back of my car was wobbling a bit and this is what it was once they got it up on the hoist. There was a bulge around the tire on the right side of the tread with pieces of the steel belt sticking out and the other side was starting to loose some shape too. I got just over 2 years and 40K of use almost to the kilometer. I'm guessing being deflated and rolling around on the sand and being banged around a bit causes the steel belt to degrade over time. Would love to hear of any other ideas on what might have contributed to this. In case you are wondering, after reading many forum articles and debates on off-road tires I decided on the Yokohama Geolander GO15s all around just in case the other tires up front were starting to degrade too. She had that covered! 🤣
  11. Apologies for jumping to defense mode. Clearly though the screaming in the car was overpowering sometimes. 🤣 Appreciate your understanding. The previous club we belonged to wasn't such a safe drive with them sometimes and this is something that has been engrained in me now quite deeply.
  12. Hi @DP1011, I can assure you and all of my other team members that I would not ever intentionally turn-off my radio for YouTube video or otherwise. That is completely unlike me or any of my previous behavior and any radio turned down or off would have been unintentional and accidental or in one case on this drive I did hear you but it was too late to respond because I was going down that steep drop with both hands on the wheel. Certainly I will review this video and the raw footage one, below, for where you may have specifically referred to (time reference would be appreciated) and any other areas for improvement, for which I am always welcoming feedback to improve including this one.
  13. Hope everyone had a great weekend. It was an incredible coincidence that on 11 February when my wife's niece and nephew were here from Dublin, Ireland, we went to this exact same drive area ... and it rained. @Shaun J was there and can attest. Thanks @Marek for the great action pictures. Great to see you again @DP1011 and thanks for a great drive for the family here on this trip. Thanks for taking me for a spin around in your jeep @Benjamin. Always wondered what that would have felt like in the desert. I'm sure there's more to the taster I saw. Here is the feature film from our trip with sound effects from my passengers. Enjoy as much as I did. I'll share the raw footage video tomorrow. Remember to smash the Like button and Subscribe! Thank you.
  14. @Emmanuel and I should probably introduce ourselves! Rise of the Pajero's 💪💪💪
  15. Congratulations @Hugo. We embark on the IM journey together!
  16. Hi @Looper, it is confirmed my embedded links are not affected by changing the setting not to show to kids.
  17. Looks like one of those Starfish Dunes @Frederic was writing about in the Forum
  18. Great news. Congrats @Mark B. See you on the sand soon.
  19. Thanks @Looper. I will change these settings. Do you know if this will change the current embedded link? After reading the article, it makes sense now to change this setting to not show it to kids.
  20. Thanks for the detailed drive report @Looper and for the feedback on my videos. Very much appreciated. I have finished the video edits for the shorter version with music and animations.
