Fewbie Drive Report – Murquab to Qudra Secret Dunes Thank you everyone for a great drive yesterday, starting in Murquab and making our way through to the Qudra Secret Dunes. A big thank you to the whole convoy for arriving on time, with only one minor delay when a driver responsibly stopped to check an unusual noise on the way to the meeting point. Safety always comes first, and it was good to see that level of awareness. Welcome & Skill Building A warm welcome to the Fewbie club, @Hansmtb! I believe this first Fewbie drive was a solid and positive experience for you. I intentionally designed the route to include multiple opportunities to practice new skills—good hill climbs, a mix of long and short side-sloping runs, ridge (flat’ish) approaches, and an overall slightly faster pace. You handled it well and adapted nicely throughout the drive. I believe @saumik1989 benefited from this practice as well. Special thanks to Hans Jr. for keeping everyone entertained with wildlife spotting. The official count for the drive was 29 camels and 8 gazelles—well done! Learning Moments Both Hans and Saumik had a few moments where the line wasn’t ideal and resulted in sliding off the ridge. Well done to both of you for not fighting it and instead choosing the safer option with some guidance from me—steering down and calmly making your way to the bottom. That’s exactly the right decision. With more experience, you’ll also be able to position the car to face downhill on your own when needed. Pace & Convoy Flow Overall, the pace was good across the convoy. One small note for improvement—@Chrismayer, you could have been a bit closer to me at times to tighten the convoy spacing, but otherwise things flowed well. Two Nice Surprises We had two unexpected and memorable moments during the drive: While in Qudra, we suddenly heard a familiar voice on the radio—much to our surprise, it was @Ishak, who happened to be having breakfast there with his wife. We stopped by to say hello, took a picture together, and I finally returned a spare wheel nut I had borrowed from him a couple of months ago after a tire and spare socket failure. Nice timing! Shortly after, we came across a single Jetour cresting a dune, driven by a gentleman with his family. We assisted by shovelling a bit, helping the car clear the crest, and safely guiding the family back down to their vehicle. A good example of the off‑road community looking out for each other. Final Notes & Thanks A reminder from @Suneedh Wrangler, and a good one for all drivers: always ensure you start every drive with a full tank of fuel. You never know what might happen once you’re out in the dunes. Thank you Chris for acting as Second Lead, and Suneedh for his support and timely reminders. Overall, a very enjoyable and productive drive—well done everyone, and see you on the next one! Here is the Relive video of our drive. Enjoy. https://www.relive.com/view/vMq5RX1KEQv

Good morning everyone! A huge thank you to all of you for the amazing support on the Bollywood Offroad Fusion video. And a special shout‑out to @Ash S.’s friend Doua for helping us bring it all together so smoothly. I’ve posted the video—as well as the little challenge I’ve thrown down to the drive leads—in the forum thread linked below. I’ve tagged each of you there. Thanks again for making this happen… it really was a team effort. Let’s see where this momentum takes us next!

Hey Carnity Friends! Last weekend during our Fewbie Desert Drive in Qudra, our convoy ended up creating what might be the first-ever Bollywood Offroad Fusion Video — complete with dancing, shoveling, rope‑pulling, and an admirable attempt at choreography 😄 For anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, here’s the masterpiece we created: 👉 YouTube Link: The stars of this video are: @Stumpy @Riyad @Eddie-Raptor @Noufal @Ash S. @Carl Stanley @Bjoern @frederic demolder @Alphin Aloor @Sam Selim and Doua (Ash's friend) who was our choreography and editor. 🌟 The Challenge For the next month, I’m throwing down a fun, friendly challenge to ALL Drive Leads: ➡️ Create your own themed offroad video with your convoy! It can be Bollywood, Hollywood, Mission Impossible, Sci‑Fi, comedy, slow-motion drama… Whatever your imagination (and your convoy) can handle! ➡️ Post it on YouTube (or any platform) and share it on the forum for the whole club to watch and enjoy. This is purely for fun, creativity, and community vibes — and of course, to prove that no one can out‑dance our Qudra Fewbie convoy. 😉 🏆 Judging & Results @Gaurav, I’ll request the Carnity Leadership to form a small judging panel to review the submissions at the end of the month. We’ll let them deliberate and decide which video deserves to be crowned the Carnity Offroad Creative Convoy of the Month. Maybe we’ll even find a prize… maybe bragging rights are prize enough 👀 📅 Timeline Start date: Immediately End date: One month from now until the end of February Winners: Announced after Crew Panel review 🎥 Let’s Make the Sand Dunes Our Studio! Convoys are already full of laughs, teamwork, and surprises — this is a great chance to capture that energy and share it with the rest of the community. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! — Emanuel

We’re organising a scenic and moderately challenging off-road drive from Murquab to the Secret Dunes of Qudra, starting westward before moving northwest. This route offers a great mix of terrain—perfect for those looking to build confidence in the dunes while still enjoying a bit of variety. We’ll begin with soft, rolling dunes that are ideal for warming up and getting into the rhythm. As we progress west, the dunes gradually increase in size and complexity, offering a fun challenge without being too technical. Around the midway point, we will encounter sabkha flats—likely where we will take a break, depending on the conditions and timing. As we head into Qudra's Secret Dunes, expect more varied terrain with scattered bushes and camel grass, until we see the open dunes ahead of us for the finale part of our planned drive. Looking forward to seeing you out there for a safe and thrilling desert adventure! Lisali to Qudra Secret Dunes — Post Drive Report 🌅 Introduction Thank you everyone for arriving on time and fully ready for briefing. Your punctuality meant we were able to roll into the desert immediately after the briefing—a perfect start to our planned southwest and Qudra bound route. At the briefing, I mentioned there would be a special midway activity, teasing only that it would be a fusion of Bollywood and Offroad. With curiosity levels appropriately high, the convoy moved out smoothly into Lisali. 🛞 First Incident – Tire Rupture About an hour into the drive, @Myrko unfortunately experienced a pop‑out. Upon inspection, it turned out not to be a simple pop-out issue but a rupture of the inner sidewall, requiring a full tire replacement. @Sam Selim immediately took the lead on the replacement Assisted efficiently by Myrko and some of the team The job was completed quickly and safely Given the nature of the damage and lack of another spare available in the convoy to fit his car, the prudent decision was made to escort Myrko out via the nearby track running alongside the camel racetrack. We bid him a good weekend there before continuing. 📍 Strategic Change of Plan Since we were already around the halfway mark of our allocated drive time, I opted to take the convoy directly toward Qudra, following the pylon track. Upon entering the iconic Secret Dunes of Qudra, we paused for our planned break—and for the special activity (details will be revealed in a separate post later today 👀). 🏜️ Secret Dunes – Clean Lines and Coaching Moment The dunes in this area were beautifully clean and sweeping, giving everyone great flow and rhythm. We did have one instructional break where I used a model of a very fine offroad car to demonstrate: Correct ridge entry approaches How to achieve proper weight transfer When to exit left, right, or straight ahead depending on dune shape Options available on wrong approaches This was in response to some observed fishtailing and counter‑steering—but after the briefing, the improvement was immediate and impressive. 🚗 Convoy Performance The entire convoy maintained excellent spacing, steady pace, and good control throughout the drive. Well done to every single one of you. Special thanks to the support positions: @Stumpy — Second Lead @J-P L — Center Forward 1 @Bjoern — Center Forward 2 @Sam Selim — Sweep Your support, communication, and coordination were outstanding and very much appreciated. 🎉 Special Mentions Carl & the New Beast Congratulations, @Carl Stanley, on bringing your 2022 Bronco Wildtrak out for its maiden desert voyage! She performed beautifully in capable hands. As we discussed after the drive, all those Pajero years gifted you the sensitivity and finesse to understand your car’s feedback—skills that translated perfectly to the Bronco. Ash & Passenger Massive thanks to @Ash S. and his passenger for assisting with our very special Bollywood x Offroad activity. Can’t wait to share the results with everyone! Welcome to Fewbie! @Riyad, congratulations on earning your Fewbie rank. Hope your first drive at this level was fun, exciting, and carried just the right amount of thrill. 🌄 Closing Thanks again to everyone for a great morning in the sand, for the teamwork during the tire incident, and for the great energy during our special activity. Enjoy the rest of your weekend—and stay tuned for the special post later today! See you all out there soon. — Emanuel

RSVP is now closed. @Bjoern and @Rodas added to drive from the Waitlist. See above convoy order. Please ensure you leave about +2 PSI more air in your tires than you normally have for our desert drives due to the continued wetness of sand conditions recently. We can always easily deflate a bit more after we get started and as needed during the drive. This will help prevent any pop-outs.

Please update your RSVP if you cannot now join our drive tomorrow. We have 5 on the Waitlist. @Stumpy @Riyad @Eddie-Raptor @Noufal @Ash S. @J-P L @Carl Stanley @Myrko @Alphin Aloor @frederic demolder @Sam Selim @Bjoern The convoy will line up is as follows: We will use Carnity Channel 4, which is 446.081. Hello @Jabir, this is a Fewbie level drive and as such I will be removing you from this drive waitlist. Please look into the three Newbie drives this weekend - one on Saturday afternoon and two on Sunday. Hope you have fun on whatever drive you sign up for. @Infaz I see you have joined Mark's drive so I'll be removing you from this drive's waitlist.

Good morning everyone. Thank you all for your interest in this drive. There are 7 on the waitlist and I kindly ask that you remove yourself now if your plans have changed and you cannot join this drive thereby allowing someone on the waitlist to be able to join this popular drive. I am also checking to see if another lead is available to lead a second convoy; however, one hasn't yet come forward. I'll keep you posted if and when one has come forward.

We begin our adventure in Lisali, a quiet desert community. Heading southwest, we traverse the fast-flowing tracks and gentle dunes that gradually increase in size and complexity. As we progress, the terrain becomes more technical, with sharper slip faces and tighter dune formations. Continuing onward, we navigate through a series of ridge lines and cross-dune sections before navigating to a sabkha or two to take us towards our prized destination. Approaching the final stretch, we enter the Qudra Secret Dunes area, known for its golden sand, playful terrain, and scenic beauty. This marks the end of our drive, where we gather to reinflate and share some storis of our drive. 😄 MUST READ AND COMPLY Environmental Policy Offroad Flag Guideline Two Way Radio Guideline Off road Driving Etiquette's Emergency details for all off-roaders Off Road Driving - Roles & Responsibilities DRIVE DETAILS Level: Fewbie and above Meeting time: 7:00 AM (SHARP - Without any exceptions) Meeting Point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/y8o9cQJwy8zerF2A7 Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. Here is the Convoy 2 track from today's drive. Once we got to the dunes we had some good variety in ascent and descent, sidies, and some of the wider ridges. The rain and winds disformed many of the ridges edges, which made for some bumpy attempts at ridge riding. We did what we could, safely. It's been a couple of years since I was here last. I'm planning to come back here again in the beginning of the new year and once things have dried out again.
