  1. he told his wife he's getting a new offroad flag and some better floor mats! his finance minister is equally as tough as yours... he just has found a technique to 'fudge' the books like those wonderful American investment banks
  2. @Lakshmi Narasimhan i want to reinforce @Gaurav point having been on a recent Fewbie Ridge Riding trip (3+ hours of ridge riding which means 3+hours of criss crossing with @Ale Vallecchi) As a fewbie+ on that ride i massively leveraged what i learnt as a newbie & fewbie with regards throttle control and especially momentum (not speed). without that prior experience the risks on ridge riding would have been far greater as momentum (not speed) ensured we were able to enter a ridge vs jump onto it and also the ability to exit safely as we didnt ride ridges at excessive speeds! The time spent as a newbie and fewbie on the foundations is essential as it ensured when we did the dedicated ridge riding or technical drives - our natural throttle/momentum management was instinctive. everyone learns at their own pace - you appetite is awesome and all i want to pass on as more of a cautious driver is that enjoy learning the basics as mastering momentum and throttle and steering in the sand makes everything more fun (and less risky) when you move onto the fewbie/fewbie+
  3. using @Rob Harper advice above - ordered a roll of this tape ready for my next visit to the tire store. @VipinShetty Finding a garage with the right hammer on weights or that uses better adhesive may take longer so will use the BMOT method 'bring my own tape' until i find that place! great tips - i haven't suffered this (yet) but adding the tape to the tool bag now! Thanks all for your guidance and recommendations plus @VipinShetty for starting this discussion.
  4. @Muzza many congrats on the new ride!! Cannot wait to see you as part of a convoy woth the new adventure X. @Ale Vallecchi is one of the Marshalls and rides an FJ... join one of his absolute newbie rides as soon as you are ready (or any absolute newbie ride). there is a dedicated page under the Toyota forum for us FJ owners so any questions you have let us know. Many beautiful FJ extremes out here and as many stock FJs so you will have a lot of company and support! welcome and share some pics when you get a chance! See you soon
  5. Firstly @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ so glad nothing serious and you were able to drive home!! Huge kudos to @Rob Harper for bringing his skills to perform the ‘rubicon’ upgrade on your Jeep ... @Thomas Varghese did you proud as SL! @Wrangeld THANKYOU for deciding to sacrifice an easy Saturday morning by the pool to create a second convoy so that we could join this super Saturday ride! Loved it and especially the highway! I didn’t know I had a love for Baja style driving!!! Appreciate the patience throughout! Thank you @Watteau first time on a drive with you and wow... such a calm and clear radio voice you have! Super sweep! Ps the only time you disappointed us was by teasing your winch on the forum... having the perfect moment to use it and.... then deciding to use a rope! All forgiven considering how great you were supporting all! @Yousef Alimadadi our star today and busiest driver.. shoveling, rope and reroutes ... huge thanks and an education for me on the CF role!
  6. https://goo.gl/maps/c3jKtX1DwSvZKkzT7 from earlier posts above link works (removed the ‘.’)
  7. @Luca Palanca Falsini what a super drive! Awesome to have you back @Lorenzo Candelpergher! Super convoy today and kudos to all you that got to the top and attempted at the Super Bowl! @Shehab Alawadhi great CF role played in what was a tricky first time route for us all! @imranaasghar81 your first FB+... doing the SL role the final part of drive and making it to the top! Awesome drive and glad you put the camera on after the first climb! see all on the dunes soon.
  8. Beautiful car @Lorenzo Candelpergher congrats on this new addition to your family! When your backup car is a Rubicon you know life is good!! 🥂 ... see you tomorrow and I do not envy your choice (battle) when the Patrol returns ...
  9. @Luca Palanca Falsini is this an April Fools joke to have @Lorenzo Candelpergher labeled with a Jeep 😊 or have you Lorenzo gone to the dark side and become a Jeeper 😂 (I love them by the way so no offense intended) ... either way welcome back indeed @Lorenzo Candelpergher
  10. @ARAGON my tip is pls AVOID the cheap Chinese brand head units and stick with either recommended or established brands. The Chinese head units are very tempting as offer huge screens but suffer from poor quality mics, audio/processing and amp performance.
  11. Many congrats @Shehab Alawadhi!! I am certain we were on the same absolute newbie together and awesome to hit this landmark also on the same day! 🤜🏽🤛🏽 See you Friday!
  12. @Ale Vallecchi @Gaurav @Rahimdad @Wrangeld @Jeepie @Pancho @Lorenzo Candelpergher I have had the joy of being part of the convoys you have led since joining this community and feel privileged to have learnt so much following your lead and that of the seniors that accompany all our rides. Thank you all for this education and entertainment! Knowing each of you takes time out of your personal lives to build and lead our weekly trips for nothing more than a thank you and to pass on skills and experiences to better us as drivers - makes me even more grateful! What a wonderful community this is and paying it forward is hopefully something I can do! Am looking forward to joining the many other great Marshall’s and leads I have not had a chance to drive with and also seeing the many friends made on the dunes very soon! thank you all for the well wishes 🙏🏽
  13. Hi @Ale Vallecchi ... yes I would confirm it would be my second drive of the weekend so let me know if the Wednesday rule applies else take me as a +1 thank you @Wrangeld for leading a second convoy
  14. This was a ride exactly as advertised! The landscape, vegetation, wildlife, farms, tracks and wavy dunes requires absolute control and concentration! What a super drive... I would encourage every fewbie to experience this as it’s a 3 hour master class on momentum! I left the drive grateful to @Ale Vallecchi for such a great experience/education and to @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ @Nabil Bishara for all the support and getting the full convoy through safely on what must have been such a difficult set of tracks to follow as you got further back! Kudos to all In the convoy especially the 2nd half (I didn’t envy your challenge) ... shovels out only twice and no ropes needed! 🙌🏽
  15. Sad to miss this drive and meeting up again @Abdul Rahman Abdul Kader ... have a great trip all and hopefully see you next weekend!
