  1. Thank you @Hisham Masaad for a very entertaining drive on Friday morning. It was really fast paced and I believe we covered over 60km in less than 3 hours through a route of climbs and climbs of the dunes of the Big Red area. Thanks @Rob S for a good 2nd lead today. Just now realized it was your 1st FB+ drive. To be frank you did just great. Not easy to be a 2nd lead at this pace through difficult terrain. Well done. @Joji varghese, @Rsjiv Samuel, @Gregory, @Davie Chase and old friend @Matt.T all did a good drive today. Never seen @Matt.T in trouble in all the drives we have driven together. When I saw the convoy order I knew I just have to follow his angle of approach. Well I had a crest situation after a long long time. @Hisham Masaad pulled me out gently and thank you @Matt.T for the help. Looking forward to see you all soon in the sands. Its always a pleasure to drive with all of you.
  2. @Taimur Khan I disagree with the title. 60 is not the new forty. Ask our veteran @Ashok chaturvedi or me. I'm not 60 but nearing to it. I feel I'm a teen at 18 when driving through the sand.
  3. I have joined your drive @Hisham Masaad. If everything goes well it will be my 99th drive with @Carnity
  4. Congrats @Antony Abraham. You have made it to Fewbie level and its time to upscale your offroading skills and probably more gear
  5. Congrats @Rob S. U made it to FB+ and soon will see you in IM too.
  6. Congrats @MMansoor. Now we can see more of the Y62 in IM level.
  7. The weird noice was informing you that the compressor is getting overheated because of flow disorder due to blocked hoses. A little more time the overheat protection system would have kicked in and shut off your compressor to your horror. You would have had to wait till sometime for the motor to cool down so that it can resume normal operations.
  8. You can get these wires at a building material shop which is used for DB dressing. Insist on Ducab or RR Kabeel brand. The wires are flexible if used for DB dressing rather than buying for general purpose.
  9. Try using 2 pipelines to inflate 2 tires each. I believe I have seen 2 out going pipelines from this compressor to inflate so that you take advantage of the 4 cylinders all at once rather than using it as a double cylinder compressor by using only a single pipe line.
  10. He had to use heavy duty wiring from the battery to the compressor as the initial wiring provided just burned up after some time. It maybe this incident which created the short circuit which finally damaged the compressor. The compressor only inflates the tires at the usual rate for a double cylinder which is 300L/min. The 4 cylinders are to be used with 2 different pipelines.
  11. Plus the sound quality is much better and interference due to static is minimal. For the 1st time in all my drives till date I could hear the communication so clearly
  12. Please share the name of the shop for the compressor on my whatsapp 0552690503. My existing single cylinder Camel bid me farewell after inflating 3 tires during last drive. No complaints though and has regards for its service for 1 year and 3 months. Has done inflation for 95 drives which roughly translates to 2.25 AED cost per drive as it cost me 230 AED back then. The compressor I bought for 60 AED from Amazon told me to get lost after my initial 3 drives. I was too in experienced to differentiate between a good compressor and a bad one those days. Now its time to buy my 3rd one.
  13. Be careful with this compressor. The 1 @Shaaz Sha bought with much expectation failed in less than 4 months and is now total scrap. The 4 cylinder for this compressor is to inflate with 2 different air pipe lines for a single or double tire. The compressor had a problem too. It tends to get hot very fast and Shaaz had to keep the compressor running inside his car with the AC on so as to cool the motor. Plus the compressor is too heavy to be transported to the bonnet and back and has to be fixed permanently. The problem with that compressor was the electronic board just got fried. Once the board was repaired and refixed the motor fried up. Will try rewinding the motor if possible and will post the outcome if successful.
  14. @Frederic did you try out the new Baofeng BF-UV9RPlus? I bought it a couple of days ago from Dragon Mart for 130 AED. 1 thing I noticed with this high power two way radio is it has very less interference, more richer sound from the speakers and build quality looks much better than the UV5R models. Snugly fits inside the palm as its much bigger due to bigger battery as its 10W. Tried it already in last drive and results were satisfactory.
  15. Why both these emotions disturbing you @Jessica Lambert? Once you actively participate in the activities of the club you earn them automatically. Have patience.
  16. @Looper the badge says you are a collaborator. It means you collaborate for everything with everybody. What is difficult in this term to understand?
