  1. @Ale Vallecchi, thanks. The car is having no overheating issue as of now. Already I have driven it from Dubai to Ajman and back on tarmac.
  2. Done already and its fine by the garage. I want to take it to the meeting point of your scenic drive and check. If you can send me the co ordinates I can do it now as anyways I'm free.
  3. My car is always desert ready, only sometimes he is naughty. Now he is well behaved. Will take a trial today even though the garage said he is ready to take on the dunes.
  4. Good morning @Chaitanya D, I'm sorry I have to leave the drive as just now my bank has sent me message that the ATM card is arriving to my office between 2pm & 6pm today and I have to receive it in person. Really sorry. Will join you in another drive.
  5. Thanks for the concern @Foxtrot Oscar regarding the overheating issue. Luckily it cost me less than 1000 AED for the repair which was mainly flushing of the radiator of the slime and sludge, replacing the suspicious top radiator tank along with replacing the thermostat valve and the small fan on the right side of the radiator. The Japanese cars are very sturdy and very reliable considering the troubles other manufacturers give and parts are readily available. The XTERRA engine is still in good condition as compression was checked and seems to be in prime condition and the head and its gasket is intact. The garage has reported the car is ready to hit the dunes anytime after their road test. Thanks to you for making me exit even though I wanted to remain and I value the experience and expertise you have as a marshal. Probably the engine could have got fried as it started to heat up surprisingly on my way back to the garage after the exit. Thanks again to everybody else for waiting patiently for Angela's return after my exit. As Arnold says in Terminator series "I"LL BE BACK".
  6. Thanks @Ale Vallecchi. I withdrew from the RSVP as I didn't want to deny a chance to somebody else cherishing a drive with you when my car was having issues and usually these kind of problems demand thorough investigation. Luckily I have a good mechanic. He flushed the radiator which was clogged with slime and sludge, changed the top tank, replaced the thermostat valve and the small fan on the right side of the radiator both of which were stuck. After the road test he certified the car is road worthy.
  7. Hi @Chaitanya D my car is repaired of the engine cooling issue and is ready to take on the sands. The radiator is flushed, thermostat and its valve is replace and the small fan at the bottom is replaced too. The garage informed me its fine after their test drive. I will check tonight and tomorrow morning too. If there is still space please add me.
  8. Angela @Foxtrot Oscar kindly waitlist me as my 1st drive of the week. My car is ready to take on the dunes after complete servicing of the engine cooling system. I had left the other drive I joined because of the cooling issue and now I'm neither there nor here as I thought it will take some time to come out of the garage. Fortunately its ready after complete radiator flush, new thermostat and new small fan at the bottom. Hopefully he will remain cool during your drive. Its now normal when I drove it on tarmac.
  9. Thank you @Foxtrot Oscar for insisting myself to exit. The car had some heating issues since 2 weeks during the drives but it was keeping on going and going up the dunes. Since you insisted that its abnormal for the XTERRA I have given it to the mechanic for thorough check up of the cooling system. It seems the thermostat valve is clogged with years of sludge. I was under the impression the car was heating up because of the weather change. Anyways the cooling system has been given for complete unclogging and service and hopefully it will solve the issue. Thankfully no oil has seeped into the radiator and the engine looks fine. Thanks again for your timely advice and wise decision. It would have destroyed the engine very soon if I continued like this for some more time.
  10. I promised my car to break in your new kinetic rope and shackles. It was a perfect pull @Shehab Alawadhi. It was break in for my new tow points also.
  11. Sorry for the heating up issue of my car and the exit @Foxtrot Oscar. The thermostat valve was clogged. Have given for complete servicing of the cooling system. Hope all of you had fun.
  12. @Ale Vallecchi please waitlist me for the drive as my car will come out tomorrow evening. Thermostat valve was clogged. Have given for complete servicing of the cooling system.
  13. Hi @Chaitanya D, I have to sign out of the drive. My car is showing some excessive engine heating issue. The mechanic told me he can get it right and hand over the car on Thursday but I don't want to deny a chance to some body else. Kindly sign me out of the drive.

  15. Kalli walli enjoying the week. The real enjoyment is on Friday morning with you @Ale Vallecchi. I'm excited and ready. The description makes me feel I'm Tom Sawyer and @Ale Vallecchi is Mark Twain. I wonder who will be Huckleberry Finn. 🤪
  16. Thanks for the clarification for the vaccine procedures and subsequent drives in the club @Foxtrot Oscar, Dr. @Mohamed Seidam & @Ashok chaturvedi. I was neutral towards my attitude towards vaccination but as it seems its going to become the norm as Covid 19 is here to stay I was contemplating taking the vaccine soon when its provided free.
  17. Thank you @Rahimdad & @Mohamed Seidam for the clarification. I didn't want to break any protocol of the club, hence asked the question. Now things are clear and I will try to fix the appointment for vaccination.
  18. Please can the club confirm for how many days we have to not join the drives after the COVID 19 vaccination. I have not taken the vaccination yet but would like to know if I have to leave the drives if I take the vaccination so that I can plan and book an appointment. Till now didn't see the club policy on this, hence asking for clarity. Once the vaccination is done does a member got to inform the club that he is vaccinated or update this info in the member profile as now that option is not there.
  19. Angela @Foxtrot Oscar I have a doubt. I was contemplating getting a COVID 19 Vaccine. Should I keep myself away from the drives after vaccination? If so for how many days? I didn't book an appointment yet but please clarify this for the information to all. Didn't see any thread regarding this.
