  1. Hello all, It was amazing to get onto the sand with family. Thanks a lot @Gauravto have accepted my rsvp at the last minute and putting up with my rookie stucks. A big thanks to @Srikumar for the guidance and best practices for self recovery. It was a great learning for me. The bbq session and kids playing in the dunes was the highlight of the drive and was thoroughly enjoyed by my family (I had to force them to come and my daughter is already like, when can we go again?) Looking forward for more bbq twilight drives in the coming months. Hopefully, I upgrade my skills by then Have a good one guys and do post pics if any. Cheers!
  2. Done. Thank you. Looking forward to the drive. Coming with my wife and 5 year old daughter.
  3. Hi @Gaurav I know rsvp is closed, but would it be possible to squeeze in for a spot for the drive tomorrow? Infiniti Qx56 Have completed an absolute newbie drive Rear and front tow points available Equipment: deflator, pressure gauge, flag, radio and compressor

P.S. Not my car nor am I associated with the seller. Just saw it browsing through Dubizzle and sharing it here
  5. BTW the Baofeng (with screen) is available for 95 aed but the shop guy said the crony is better than the baofeng in terms of signal distance so i went with the crony even though the baofeng looked really cool about the compressor, I just pray that the quality guys were in a good mood while manufacturing my compressor.
  6. Hey Guys, Went to DM last eve and bought the Golden camel double cylinder (the red one) for 265 aed. Tried 10 different shops. no one wanted to budge from 280 aed. Some of them had no hoses, no carry bags etc. Finally found a bangladeshi guy who let it go for 265 aed and gave me a new box. It comes with the compressor, long hose with a pressure monitor and a carry bag. Bag seems cheap and would tear apart in 2 weeks. No warranty offered whatsoever, but i got it checked with a small battery at the shop. Fingers crossed. Shop guy bluntly said it will work for 1 week or 1 year or 10 years depending on my luck. He even muttered a small prayer for the compressor to work Also bought Crony MT777 for 115 aed and a flag mount with suction cup for 85 aed. Can share the shop names and details if required.
  7. @Islam Soliman dumb question - What is 1st "WE" drive and 2nd "WE" drive?
  8. Hello @Islam Soliman I am on waitlist. Is it possible for me join the drive.
  9. Hey guys, Please share pics of the drive, in case you took some during.
  10. Hey all, It was an amazing drive on Sunday. I learnt a lot about driving in the desert, it being my first time and all. @Foxtrot Oscarwas the best first marshal i could get. She took us step by step, from the sabkha to the technical dunes and the side sweeps, waiting patiently for us to understand our cars and how they perform offroad. Thank you @Foxtrot Oscarfor being patient when I couldn't climb over some dunes and also for your on-point instructions for self recovery. I was able to overcome most of my fears during the first drive itself but I believe its a long way to go A big shout out to @JeromeFJfor taking care of us from the end of the convoy. your commitment to come to every stuck/ refusal and help out is commendable. From guiding us at the deflation point to deflate, check our radios, resolve any queries we have, till the end of the drive to ensure everyone is safe and ready to go back on road, your support is highly appreciated. Looking forward to many drives with you being the sweeper The best part of the drive for me was the side sweeps and going over the tall dunes. Looking forward for the next newbie drive. They are full already 😕
  11. @Foxtrot Oscar Krishna here. Driving Infiniti qx56 Absolute newbie to the sands Front and rear tow hooks present Looking forward for Sunday 😊
  12. Hey guys, Looks like you had an amazing drive. @Brette @JeromeFJ I mistakenly assumed the trailer hitch was also the tow hitch. My bad. Shall get it sorted asap and join next week's drive
  13. Hey Guys, I do not have these - Tire deflator, pressure gauge and compressor Any idea on where to get them. I live in IMPZ, Dubai
  14. @Brette Yes I do have 2 front tow hooks. Thank you I Do. Thank you @Zixuan Huang - Charlie Hi guys, Any changes to this drive. I got removed from the going list and it seems no one is in the list now.
  15. Thank you @Brette I will check in a while and update here. However, in a scenario where I dont have them, would you be so kind to let me know where I can buy and get them fixed in Dubai this evening?
  16. Hello guys, I just bought a 2009 infiniti qx56 for strictly offroading only. Reading this thread looks like the the car is too heavy for spirited offroading. The car has done 200K kms but the Engine and Tranny are super smooth. Changed the bushes for suspension and differentials + the engine mountings and it drives like a dream. Taking it for my first offroad session tomorrow. Planning to offroad it for this winter and replace it with a lighter SWB SUV for the next winter. Your opinions are welcome!
  17. Hey Guys, This is Krishna. An absolute newbie for off roading. The only off roading I have done is parking in Kacchha I have a 2009 Infiniti QX 56 stock. Ground clearance is 9 inches. Rear tow hook - Yes. Not sure about the front ones. Will check and update here. Looking forward!
