  1. Yes, last Friday I tried driving on D had problem, and then i switched to tiptronic and climbed faya backside had problem. Thats why I started researching on this.
  2. I am not at all aware of the logic behind, what I assume is since it always checks where to supply more power it over heats (working some what similar to D mode). If the central diff is locked, its not overloaded. I cant think beyond this technically. Or might be some flaw in the factory design. But for sure ready to try different options and wanted to overcome overheating problem otherwise it takes away the fun and I start worrying about when I will encounter the problem.
  3. Definitely old gen this problem is not there as few marshals are driving without any problem. Only the new gen Pajero has this problem and as it is suggested by mitsubishi its worth giving it a try on new Pajero as they might have changed something like smaller transmission cooler or the path of oil flow etc...
  4. This is what I suspect could be cause for overheating
  5. I believe that same concept applies for Toyota as well!!!
  6. Nothing wrong in sharing. Without discussing there wont be any clarity, I learnt Toyota options now!!!
  7. And this comes from mitsubishi itself. https://www.mitsubishi-motors.com.au/blog/super-select-ll-when-and-where.html 4H - Providing the driver with increased traction on rough roads and when extra control is required on bitumen and in hazardous conditions So at least the latest gen Pajero's should follow this I guess.
  8. Dear Experts, I have been hearing from few of my friends and many garage guys asking me to drive on 4HLC in sand rather than 4H. I started researching as well and ended up on habtoor site (for my Pajero’s) with some tips which says to drive on 4HLC for soft sand and steep climbs. But in carnity we are driving only on 4H. Probably if we drive on 4HLC we might not have transmission over heating problem? Wild guess, needs more testing!!! I even tried driving on 4HLC on sand for few minutes (not desert) and there’s definitely noticeable difference in performance of the car which feels good. Please go through the link and throw some light on this topic. http://www.habtoormotors.com/mitsubishi/service/driving-tips/ Looking forward for clarity on this.
  9. Welcome the new feature. Hope bells and whistles can be added as we have the core drives tracking in place. If you need more assistance in coordinating with developer you can count on me, I will be more than happy to do this!!!
  10. Small suggestion, instead of carrying a spare why cant we get one for those in Abudhabi, this will solve the problem.
  11. Last week I tried driving on automatic mode for 5 min that too around 7 AM and had overheating problem with 2 auxiliary fans running. So this is a never ending problem with pajero, need to drive only on manual mode and always 👀 pop out looking into gauges!!!!
  12. I was mentioning about this week only, need to give break for leads as well to recover from long week end non stop drives. So this week you don’t have to worry about second drive!!!
  13. I believe except for intermediate drive all the drives are on Friday morning, no chance for going on second drive!!! 😒
  14. Few cases with their car failing forcing to drop out in last minute and how quick alternate is been arranged in very short notice and how flexible our team is and willing to stretch, which shows every ones passion about this sport. I had a good share of 4 consecutive drives in 2 days. There were couple of drives stretched to 2 convoys. Hats off to leads, seniors supporting and the management and those joined the drives and few who couldn’t get chance to drive shall get in future drives.
  15. Thanks @Foxtrot Oscarfor the wonderful drive. It was very relaxing, pleasant drive and wonderful watching new members learning the techniques. Happy to see the number of opportunities given to newbies to retry the maneuvers and to safely recover and appreciate all of them trying again and again till they go through. One small suggestion for newbies is to have the communication going on always and respond to leads while recovering which is very important. Amazing lead by @Foxtrot Oscar and support role played by @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ in recovery and guiding, @Craig Finlayson for winching out and specially sweep@Desert Dweller in rerouting the convoy quickly and jumping in for almost all the recovery. Good team work. Thanks for positioning me in the last so that I learnt driving and negotiating on churned up sand. Looking forward for seeing you all again.
