  1. Dear Desert Drivers, Thank you for joining the drive this morning. It was a true desert experience, in this mixed terrain. Nice flow in the big dunes to start, as a warm up, and then, passing the sabkha, this impressive set of high dunes. Climbing the face and going down was relatively easy for the group of experienced IM drivers, even if the soft sand required full concentration to keep the cars straight in the descend, but the real challenge was still to come, when we entered the dunes themselves. Climbing per sections, with a sand becoming more soft after each car, little space to maneuver. This is when skills were required, and not only power. Going down on the other side, we met @Imran Kashif, waiting for us close to Sweihan pond. After a small break by the pond, we had another set of these challenging tall dunes, before to continue in a more relaxed mode, cruising the white sands of the Fayah area. @Jaro Tuzinskythank you for the second lead, you were holding the convoy when required , until I found a proper route. @Krishna R, excellent driving and control all along the drive; I did not hear you on the radio, which is a good sign ! @Ignacio Quindós, excellent drive also for your first IM, well done @Bjoern you and your car had better days, but you went through the obstacles with calm and determination, without loosing your sense of humor @Imran Kashif, you missed the big dunes, but thank you for joining halfway @Zed, @Fabien Monleau, @Chris Wing always good to have experienced drivers in challenging situations. You have shown one more time that you can be autonomous at the back of the convoy, supporting others when needed, Thanks a lot! Enjoy the rest of the weekend, and see you next time !

  8. Dear Desert Drivers, Thank you for joining the drive this morning. This area of Nahel is never disappointing, and again today we could enjoy these beautiful dunes. We had virgin sand most of the time, and could not see any other car during the whole drive. The drive was not easy though, as we went through a few high climbs, deep bowls and impressive descends. All of you managed very well as nobody got stuck despite the soft sand, and we had only a few pop-outs. The drive was very fluid, surfing from one dune to the other, and we maintained an appreciable pace of 23.2 km/h average moving speed for a total 66 km. Nathan @Stumpy Paj, thank you for the 2nd lead, you had to stop unexpectedly a few times, and for the support during the pop-out resolution. @Deepak Eswar, nice to see your new ride, you have seen the benefit of having more power in that "Blue Jeep Bowl". A few more drives and you will control it even better. @FERNANDO SYRIO, nice meeting you for the 1st time. Excellent drive for you today, managing to take the Fortuner through the obstacles. Brett @Bravoecho, our most experienced Fewbie today, you are ready for the next level. @Bjoern always a pleasure to have you in a drive. Thank you for doing your 1st drive as IM with us. You totally deserve the new level. @Naveen Raj, with a new car also, take the time to adjust to the capabilities of the Jeep, But you have already seen the potential with a perfect line in one of the high bowls today. @Mehmet Volga thanks for joining and sweeping the convoy, guiding drivers out of the refusals, always nice driving with you. If you have some photos, please share them here or in the Gallery. Enjoy the rest of the weekend !

I'm looking forward to meeting you again after a few weeks. It is getting hotter now, so be sure to have enough water and some sun protection in case we have to shovel a bit. 17. Thank you @Frederic for the initiative. One more proof that with @Gaurav and @Srikumar you are not only running an off-road club, but leading a true community. You are a source of inspiration for all of us. I did not expect a special recognition for doing something I like, and it is a nice surprise back from holidays. Congratulations to the nominees of this first quarter @Ale Vallecchi @Benjamin @Bjoern @Tharun Kumar V @Santoso Marjuki @Davie Chase @DP1011 , all of them shoving great dedication and team spirit !!
  18. Very sincere congratulations @Ale Vallecchi. Your drives are always a source of inspiration and you are a true LRDG leader !
  19. Thank you for joining the drive today. Despite the fog, everyone was at the meeting point more or less on time. Except @Abdul Basit Khan (see above), sorry for that, always disappointing when something happens just before the drive, but as you said, better have this issue on the road than in the desert. Hope to see you soon in another drive. The drive was smooth and fluid, thanks to the excellent level of the drivers. We had our fill of high climbs, large bowls, elevated ridges in the first portion. The second portion offered large dunes, with a lot of space, perfect to push a bit and let these engines roar. These parts required not only a powerful car, but also a precise driving and and accurate selection of line. All of you managed very well. After a small break under the shade, (yes, nice trees in the desert), the last portion was more relaxed, still very enjoyable through virgin dunes and soft sand, a bit technical, finishing on the sabkha, and reaching the exit track. No shovel, no rope, barely a few refusals, well done all of you ! @Krishna R thank you for the 2nd lead, always watching and rerouting when needed. @Zed, nice to see you after a long time, than you for the support from the middle. @Gurcharan Mehta, nice opportunity to test that new car in desert condition, @Pascal, excellent driving as usual, @KAMALIO, thanks for joining after that Tropic drive, @Amr Aydin, very reliable sweep as usual, thank you. Always good to have both of you in the drive (Sophie, waiting for the pics ;)). Enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you soon. Pls post your pics and/or feedback.
