  1. That's an absolute shame. But I see exactly why too. Of all the drives I've been on between Dubai & Sharjah, it's one of the most scenically stunning places, but every time we've been out for a drive, it's been littered with trash. The base of Pink Rock, a few weeks ago looked like it was the scene of an overnight festival.
  2. Thank you! Will do!! Absolutely! That beautiful dusky FJC is a sight to behold 😍
  3. After looking far and wide for the LTX Force (and comparing costs), I finally pulled the trigger on the Yokohama Geolandar GO15s running the same profile as my H/Ts at 275/65/R17. @PaoloMaraziti, @Gaurav, @Christopher Assal, @M.Seidam, @Niki, @topgear, @Mario Cornejo and @Srikumar - thank you all for your valuable advice, and for deliberating with me through to my decision. Much appreciated 🙏🙏
  4. Please waitlist me, as a second drive. Do ignore this. I've secured a second drive.
  5. Congratulations @Santoso Marjuki! Always a pleasure to have you in the convoy and looking forward to seeing that gleaming blue Rubi out on the sands 🤩🤩
  6. This is not confusing at all! Rather, thank you for clearing it up ☺️ I don't like the BFG profile but much prefer the cleaner look of the Geolandars or the LTX Force. It's between those two at the moment. Not doing drives this weekend so will sneak out to get one of those pairs on! Thank you gents 🙏🙏
  7. Final thought - currently running 275/65/R17 so would you folks recommend an upgrade to 285/65/R17 or 275/70/R17? Did a side-by-side comparison and while the 275/70 offers a minutely better ~0.29" increase in clearance due to sidewall height increase, the 285/65 offers a ~0.39" increase in width. These numbers seem so small that I've been breaking my head over this for the past week, and don't know which to prioritize. Any guidance here would be amazing!
  8. Thank you for the sage advice, as always @Gaurav 🙏🙏 Aesthetically, I'm trying to keep this car as stock as I can because I like the classic look. So if anything, I would probably prefer to go down to the classic silver rims on Safaris than go to anything bolder. Call me weird, but I even changed my headlight halogens to the warmer 3400k (but way brighter) than the blue-white tone earlier. So this advice helps me a lot more 🤩
  9. Thanks for this feedback @PaoloMaraziti! I spoke to a few tyre shops this week and most of them have agreed to buy my tyres off of me as they're still quite new. I'll see if they give me good value when the final deal comes to play before going to the marketplace. When it comes to rims, do you folks recommend holding onto the old rims for a re-sale? And if I go with beadlocks, do I need to get 5 rims or 4? Sorry, if this seems like a dumb question 😔 Actually, scratch that. I just did some searches and read through some posts on here, and I'm going to put the beadlocks on hold. Will make incremental changes and see if I really need them.
  10. @Mehmet Volga, due to an unplanned event, I will be unable to join this drive. I have vacated my spot.
  11. @Frederic please take me off the waitlist. A close friend has decided to get married on Friday and while I could convince the couple-to-be to test their relationship with this drive, I think that would be asking for too much 😛 Looking forward to you doing this drive out again soon so I can make it.
  12. Congratulations @Santoso Marjuki! What a great way to get here after Ale's blitz!
  13. Congratulations @Dodi Syahdar and always fun seeing a Stetson in the convoy 🤠
  14. From rock solid playlist choices to rock solid drives, you're a source of interesting new ideas. Congratulations Alain!
  15. @Gaurav, pretty certain you’ve led way more drives but according to the platform this was #150. Thank you for being an amazing marshal and voice of reason (with jokes on the radio) to me, all the convoys you've led, the marshals you've trained, and this amazing club that you've nurtured. Here's to the next 150 🚀
  16. A little late to the party, but as quoted by the rest of the convoy, thank you @Kailas for such variety in one drive. I've been trying to convince my family members to step out on drives and yesterday, my dad joined me. What were stuck situations of waiting was excellent time to bond with my dad and have him exposed to this new hobby of mine. So to everyone in the convoy, thank you for a great day out @S Jacob, I think you need to take back your comment on your pocket rocket not climbing up peaks. You took it to the top everywhere yesterday. It was so fun to watch from the base. @Naveen Raj, I've said this before but I'll say it again, watching you drive that Pajero on the limit is inspiring for everybody who wants to learn how to extract every cc out of their engines. You make it look easy but what's really speaking here is your skill. @M.Seidam, thank you for being around everywhere and advising on all the recoveries and refusals. Your advice is always on point and it gave me so much more to learn and confidence. @Naim Aoun - that was a great drive! The stucks are part of the game but you rocked that second half giving me a great line to follow @Lawrence_Chehimi - there's so much for the rest of us to pick from your approach angles, the lines you took, throttle management and more. Since you were sweeping, I'm sure many in the convoy missed it but for those of us that caught you climbing, boy what a show! @Gilbert Khalil - my dad asked me why I didn't get an FJC like you. You were awesome as always. @Damien Ranjit - I said this on the first drive we were on together and I'll say this again. You are such a sensible driver. @Gregory & @Charbel - always cool as a cucumber, you two are! The poise with which you pilot your cars forces me to rethink my throttle management. @Daniel Yang- your beast is beastly! Those tires may need to lose a couple of inches but beyond that I would chuck out the third row and yes, always stay in 1st gear 😬 All in all, thank you everyone for an event filled drive. See you all out on the sands again soon!
  17. After that tantalizing signup description, I am eagerly awaiting the post-drive report for those of us who’ll live vicariously through y’all. I’m sure it won’t disappoint 🤩
  18. All my problems get solved fasted on a forum thread, than in real life. Thank you all for the wealth of information you've already shared so far. I'm simply blown away 🤩 I'll get cracking on getting quotes between the Michelin LTX Force & Yokohama Geolandar GO15s. I also need to figure out where to sell off my stock H/Ts. There's barely 6.5k kms on them right now @Christopher Assal (and @Niki) thank you for bringing in a new entrant that I hadn't even considered. Chris, since you drive an identical car, your experience is the most valuable to me. I definitely want to keep the profile of the Y61 as clean as possible and don't want to turn it into a "monster truck" hahaha. It's one of the reasons why I don't like the BFG KO2s but it came so highly recommended that I included it. Also, thank you for the guidance on the sizing help. I wasn't sure how big to go. @Gaurav - you know that you instigated this forum post with your feedback on Friday evening Thank you for the guidance on helping me narrow this down. @Mario Cornejo - thanks for the notes on the beadlocks. Will definitely look into them! And yes, suspension upgrades are on the way but I'm just trying to hold out for as long as I can because I just don't think that I've fully exploited how far I can push the stock setup purely because I'm not nearly as good a driver yet.
