  1. Hi @Vanessa8580, unfortunately I have to skip this drive, but look forward to driving with you again on another day. I’ve taken myself out of the RSVP queue. Take care.
  2. @Srikumar@topgear and @Anish S thank you for spending your holiday with our newbie convoy in the big dunes of Liwa. The routing was fantastic. Can't wait to join one of your drives again. Thanks for the lessons. I put some photos in the gallery. @Adnan Halepota @Derius Olivier @Karthik Raptor @Anish S @topgearthanks for the shoveling and pushing to get unstuck in the dunes. I definitely owe you one! Hopefully I'll be better my third time out.
  3. Hi Srikumar. Thanks for the info. As I’ve never used a jerry can, welcome your thoughts on the following questions. 1. Can you confirm that I need 1x20l Jerry can of petrol? I have a 2017 Pajero LWB. 2 Do you have any recommended outlets/brands of cans? I’m looking for something that won’t leak fumes / liquids. 3. Where should I store (how should I secure) the Jerry can during the drive? Thanks.
  4. Unfortunately, I had to drop out of the drive due to a new work requirement. Hope to join you guys in the sand soon. Enjoy this drive.
  5. Huge thanks to @Wrangeldfor leading a fantastic team comprised of @JeromeFJ, @Niki and @Dodi Syahdar. Today was informative, fun, and safe. Can't wait to do it again with you all.
  6. Hi @Frederic. Thank you for the very detailed info. If you don’t mind, I wanted to ask you some follow up questions: - Flag: I bought a flag pole and suction cup mount from DM. Is it better to mount this on the window or roof of the Pajero? Also, where can I find a cool flag (the one that came with the pole is generic)? - Modifications: For the front/rear underbody protection, are there any shops in Abu Dhabi (preferred) or Dubai you recommend? Hi @Daniel Rodas. Thank you and @Frederic for the tip about using manual mode to avoid overheating the transmission. Is there an indicator light for an overheated transmission? Hi @Mehmet Volga thank you for the info about storing your gear. I wish I would have asked you this questions earlier, as it would have save me the trouble of removing the 3rd row seat from the Pajero (the process is easy, but carrying it out my condo was a workout! So now I have the empty pocket that you mentioned for use with storage. I have a question if you don’t mind: - Spider Net: Do you have any recommendation for a store that sells these (and what size to get)? I “might” have more questions for you Pros in the future, so thanks in advance for the help. I hope to see you all on the trail soon!
  7. Hi folks, I am new to off-roading and looking forward to joining the club’s off road outings. I drive a 2017 Pajero 3.5 LWB and want to purchase required and recommended gear to get started. Welcome comments from the experts. Please feel free to link to other posts if it’s easier. Much appreciated. - Tow Hooks: Do the stock front/rear tow hooks on the Pajero meet the mandatory requirements for Carnity’s off-road events? - Flag: What model works best for the Pajero and where should I buy it? - Securing Gear: How should I secure the large loose objects inside the cabin during off-road drives? I’m specifically focused on securing the following items: air compressor, shovel, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, water/food, and handheld radio. - Modifications: For newbie and fewbie rides, do you recommend any modifications to the Pajero? How about fixing the rear bumper “sand scoop” issue that I’ve read about in these forums? - Tow Hitch: I am contemplating installing a tow hitch (2 inch receiver) to haul some bikes around. It would be great to buy one the won’t interfere (much) with departure angle and could help with the rear bumper “sand scoop” issue. What toe hitch do you recommend and where do you recommend having it installed? I welcome any other advice you wish to pass down. I’m already studying the various “advice” and forum posts to figure things out. Thanks.
