  1. If its the tread block size you were focused on @Gary F then look at the light truck version of the G015 which is what I ended up chosing. A lot larger then the 275/75 G015 tread blocks but you still retain the G015 tread pattern and the side wall is 10 ply versus 8 ply on the K02's
  2. Thanks @munkybizness. I'm enjoying taking my time and researching the best options. Decided to do the dyno becuase i'm only interested in changes that yield a result rather than sound or look good. I always received a different number when I asked others about HP and torque so figured the only way to get a answer that relates to me is to obtain my own figures. I also see varying numbers in relation to weight but don't know where I can get this done in Dubai
  3. I actually did the same last week @munkybizness . Wanted to get a base line on the car before I start the "enhancements". 205 WHP with the new tyres I mentioned above and 247 foot pounds of torque
  4. @MrT I have just done this recently myself on my 2016 Y61 SWB and I went with the Geolander however I chose a different size then the standard 275/65/17. I ended up going up a size to the 285/75/16 (I have 16" rims/not sure whether they do this size for 17" rims) and the reason being at this size it is the light truck tyre which means a 10 ply sidewall (two more than the KO2) larger block size in the tread but at the sime time you retain the optimal G015 tread pattern. The tyre is heavier then the standard size G015 however with the weight of the patrols that we have I haven't noticed too much of a difference. You would need a lift to fit these however their ability to hold the car on the dune has really impressed me. Hope this helps
  5. Congratulations @Davie Chase aka Smooth Operator. Look forward to many more drives with you mate
  6. Congratulations @Looper however after todays drive I think you should change your name to DK aka Drift King from Tokyo Drift 😁
  7. Thanks @Davie Chase and @M.Seidam for a fantastic Saturday. Truly was up there as one of my favorite drives. The convoy built up a great rhythm and it reminded me of surfing as we flowed quickly from one dune to the next. We were doing so well with no stops that it’s the first time I’ve had to call for a bio break. Well done @Davie Chase or as you now shall be known as the “smooth operator” 😁
  8. Looking forward the next most important part @Frederic and that will be in the desert which i'll be doing on Thursday. When researching this what made my mind up was the following: There is a 50.8 pound deficit by running the 285's versus the 275/70/16 however that increase in weight can be easily compensated by what I have planned for the car. The car weighs over 4500 pounds so a plus 1% increase in weight shouldn't affect it too much. As a light truck tyre you get a 10 ply sidewall. As a comparison the popular 275/70/16 BFG KO2's only have a 8 ply Tread depth is 18/32" versus 13/32" for the 275 equivalent. Blocks are a lot larger but you still retain the preferred G015 tread pattern.
  9. Some feedback for when you upgrade your Patrol @Frederic. These are G015's 285/75/16 and fit very well. Plenty of clearance and have also greatly reduced the speedo discrepancy down from 10km/h to 3km/h
  10. Don't give @Stumpy Pajtoo much credit. As my brother in law he is legally obligated to do that 😄
  11. I agree @Frederic however the problem I am facing is not so much choice but availability. So many stores are out of stock. think I’ve found some G015’s in Deira
  12. Thanks @Looper and yes disappointed that my drive finished very early. Lots of research on tyres over the weekend but with 16" rims the choices become quite slim.
  13. Congratulations mate. Look forward to our next catch up in the desert
