We will stop the convoy towards the end of the drive, and make some coffee and tea whilst looking at the sky and chatting (30 minute break). 4. Update 20251120 - The Sunday Plan: There is a large section of dunes just to the south west of Tilal ADNOC, bordered to the west by a farm and to the east by the Tilal drag race strip. Big Sidies, ridge riding and criss crossing. Next we will double back to the south east towards sweihan lake. Small dunes, technical sections. We will try and go straight through the dunes here instead of looping around too much, to train ourselves on the tech stuff before having a short break at the Lake. Westwards again across sabkha and some long range dunes, picking up the speed and connecting nice flowing sections towards the various rock formations. Next we zig zag south through a high technical zone, and across some areas with vegetation, to be rewarded with some TALL WIDE OPEN dunes which we will take big Sidies on and enjoy some high speed runs finishing towards north Khatim. LETS DO IT 💪
  5. would love to catch up and chew the fat @Davie Smooth_Operator but I have previous commitments for Friday evening. Have an excellent night mate!
  6. The drive objectives were layed out, and we delivered. We started off with around 35 minutes playing around doing Sidies in the big dunes right near the desert safaris. It was @Krinesh first night drive, and together we all made sure he had a great debut! 👏 It can be tricky to see the angles and heights of the dunes at night, but everyone drove this area flawlessly, esp as we were pulling big Sidies around Deep bowls and pockets. From here we headed out westwards hoping to catch a easy trail to zone2... Instead I found a fence and drove us into a deadend! Whoops! After we reversed out one by one we managed to get back on track and start hitting some.of the flowing dunes. We followed these flows into the main event where I promptly got stuck in a soft patch, and thanks to some nice guidance on the radio from @Zed got out pretty quickly. This was when we discovered that he would have to impersonate Keanu from speed and keep the RPMS high to avoid engine shutdowns. Next the team found themselves having to shovel me out after getting crested on a ridge. Great team.effort trying to move a mountain of sand, but in the end @Aser tugged the back of my car around so I could use gravity and drive out. After arriving in zone3 we had a few good long range dunes and started encountering some heavy fog rolling in, so high tailed it to the exit a few minutes early to avoid getting stuck in adverse weather. It was a really fun mid week escape with lots of big terrain! Thanks for coming from Dubai @Jose Luis Campos, and good to get a big chunk of the Abu Dhabi carnity crew together @Aser @Dan S @Diego @Krinesh & @Zed Enjoy the rest of your week!
