Hi All I have been looking at fitting some off-road lights to my Pajero, but the more I research the more confused I get! So, any advice would be welcome. I am looking for a set up that will allow me to bring a convoy out of the desert if we get stuck until after dark, as well as for camping trips, joining a night drive as support, etc. So not for dedicated hard core night driving. My eyesight is affected by glare so a set up that prevents any glare off the bonnet will be preferred. Current thinking is as follows: 1. Bumper mounted spots or short light bar - which would work best and mounting options? 2. A pillar mounted ditch or side shooter light pods - size, light color, how to prevent glare, etc? 3. Rear mounted work light for vision during night recoveries, camping etc. 4. Wiring and switch panel in the cabin? 5. Trying to keep the budget within reason, hopefully within 2000 aed all in? Will this be possible while still using half decent options? 6. ADIHEX starts this weekend, so there might be some good deals available? Cheers Andrew

Drive report 1st thanks for being on time allowing us to get away shortly after 6am. We had a good start talking about and practicing climbs. Each car is a bit different when it comes to gearing and power sweet spots. Knowing yout car only comes with practice. From there we had a technical section before the dunes opened up again. Here we had more chances to practise climbs along with ridge riding, switches and how to get out of bowls! To @Sandeep Padhi, @Enrico - Mountain, @Ana, @Lazy Frog, @Rajath Shetty and @khurramm some really good driving from all especially as we pushed your limits on occasions. To @Frederic, @Ishak, @J-P L and @JC_E would never have been able to do this drive without you. Always a pleasure to drive with every one of you.

Afternoon All @Frederic, @Sandeep Padhi, @Enrico - Mountain, @Ishak, @Ana, @Lazy Frog, @Mahesh_, @Rajath Shetty, @khurramm, @JC_E and @J-P L Really nice convoy for tomorrow morning! We will be heading to a beautiful star dune close to the entry point to spend some time practicing climbs before we drive through to the Badayer shops exit point via super bowl and iftar bowl. The sand will be soft and the weather will be hot, so please ensure that you and your vehicles are fully prepared. We will be using CH 4 on the drive Please be at the meeting point in time for a briefing at 06h00 so that we can maximize the time in the dunes before it gets too hot. https://maps.app.goo.gl/P2f2yg3bqu1apLeNA

Chema has been promoted to Fewbie Plus Level
Andrew John Melvill replied to Frederic's topic in Off-Road Club's Announcements
Well Done @Chema really looking forward to seeing you and your 212 at FB Plus level! -
Thanks all for joining today! I had an awesome time, definitely the best of my lead drives so far! @Sandeep Padhi hope you enjoyed your 1st taste of Fewbie level, great driving with just enough refusals to know that you have stepped up a level. @Enrico - Mountain and @Ana good to see the increased confidence from both of you, the few refusals showed that you were testing yourselves and your vehicles. @saumik1989 great on the ridges and side slopes just need to manage momentum a bit better on the climbs. @Rajath Shetty and @Hartzel solid driving from both of you, very well done. @Emanuel, @Mahesh_ and @J-P L briliant support dealing with the few refusals and keeping my lines honest. Lastly @nithish468 always good to see you, thanks for filling in as a flying sweep. In at 33 degrees and out at 41 degrees, great way to start sunday!

Good Afternoon @Emanuel, @Sandeep Padhi, @Enrico - Mountain, @Ana, @Mahesh_, @Rajath Shetty, @Hartzel, @saumik1989 and @J-P L Thanks all for signing up for the drive tomorrow morning! We will be starting at the 2nd Dec Cafe meeting point for 06h00 aiming to be fully deflated and flags up for the briefing at 06h15. There are some nice relatively clean dunes close to the meeting point, once done with those we will proceed through to Pink Rock, Little Red and Big Red. Aiming to be out around 09h00 and/or before it gets over 40 degrees, keeping it short and sharp! It will be HOT tomorrow so please ensure that you check your cars today, especially coolant levels. Please bring plenty of fluids for yourselves and any passengers. The proposed convoy order is as follows:

Andrew John Melvill replied to Frederic's topic in Off-Road Club's Announcements
Congratulations @Raptor Runner - Praveen, enjoy the new challenges and pace! See you in the sand soon. -
Hi @Sandeep Padhi I see that you are ranked as a Newbie. As this is a Fewbie level drive please could you remove yourself from this drive. There is a Newbie drive scheduled for Saturday afternoon, I strongly suggest that you join this drive. After another Newbie drive, I suggest that you then apply for promotion to Fewbie level. See the link below to the Carnity Grading structure and requirements for promotion.
