  1. In summer time when getting cool air is sooo very critical i got same problem so i changed the blender door but the same problem continued. Went to my friend who is a car expert and he advised to check the freon levels because in his experience if it's low, the high or low pressure side cant blow cold affecting either sides. the freon level was good to go then where were back to square one then finally we decided for the final blow to check the actuator It might be moving the blend door but it's not going in its full rotation and may need calibration which only an experienced mechanic could do so we got the calibration done and now its as good as new.
  2. Steering whining noise could be coz of older steering fluid or coz of weak steering pump. To start with changing the steering oil is better and cheaper fix, its normal PSF (Power steering fluid) same as use in auto gearbox. You can get Mobil 1 PSF or ATF (Auto Trans Fluid) very easily from karama (in Dubai) just before sana fashion if you coming from Garhoud side. Mobil 1 workshop is inside the emarat petrol station in the service lane.
  3. If you are changing coz its foggy and dull then you can shine them by yourself in 15 dhs. Buy formula 1 rubbing compound known as "Scratch out" from emarat eppco and apply all over the headlight and leave it to dry and then rub it nicely (hard hand) with cloth and it will shine like new. If u still wanna change coz of newer design then check on market after sahara mall, tyre market guys have many headlights and not as expensive as abu shagara hagglers.
  4. hazard switch is to be replaced when you open the front panel.
  5. In sharjah, go to BM road after the troy university there are plenty of dealers selling spare parts at very competitive price than AGMC (at least 50% cheaper). If you find them expensive and want to search in scrap then go further on same road and take right after the alico on BM road, that will take you the biggest scrap in shj. There are many scraps so you got to walk around and check. Few good names are: Aflatoon scrap, AtoZ scrap. There are few more scrap (other side) behind al futtaim motors in sharjah opp al falah plaza. They also keep neat inventory, try their too.
  6. the best way to find out what is wrong with the car is to get a computer check and get the code. that will specify the problem and save a lot of cash and time to experiment
  7. If you mean the wheel speed sensor: it must be on the left side of tranny. ABS wheel sensor: mounted on the knuckle behind every wheel.
  8. My guess is behind the brake pedal. As thats the MOST common place where BMW hides that brake switch.
  9. Check the drive shaft arent dry or having loose U joint which is vibrating while accelarating. It could be unbalance tires too, as a second doubt.
  10. ABS system deactivated due to some major/minor issue, get it diagnosed with BMW computer and see what he points at and get it fix.
  11. Is car serviced on time? if not look at their fist. If yes, check your coolant and engine oil viscosity and color feel. If they both look different and you also have white smoke from xhaust that means engine head gasket is blown and need a change.
  12. Most rims are made of Aluminum. OEM comes with aluminum alloy. Or steel is second best choice.
  13. I've read several posts on this. if you plan on changing tranny fluids, do so early (around 50k kms) or just leave it in forever. Also, when bmw says lifetime fluid, they mean lifetime of the tranny (anything between 100k and 150k) and not lifetime of the car. And at 100k +, do NOT change your step tranny oil. I've heard on E46's which ours is based off of and uses the same engine/tranny, that when they changed their oil at higher mileage, soon came catastrophic tranny failure. so either you change it when new(under 50k) or leave it in for ever until tranny fails.
  14. I hope you meant for front differential right???? If its rear diff leaking, its not related but if id front for sure its related. Ask mechanic how he can change the axle without removing the diff. And if he remove the diff then he has removed the differential gasket and re fixed it too. As it wasn't fixed properly thats why its leaking and its his problem for sure of not doing job properly at first time. Threat him to call police or else fix the car. As he need to learn lesson of being more professional before taking up another job and pay for his mistakes.
  15. Outside door handle latch must have gone, get to any denter and he can open the door handle and show you small long nail type part that you need to replace it. I have done same in my X5 few years back cant rem the name of that small metal pin or strip slighlty smaler than house key.
  16. In the engine bay inside the black fuse box having fuse icon made on top. Its on left side of engine.
  17. unplug battery and comnnect after 30 minutes again and start ejecting changer. If no luck try to pry the lock on left side with which CD chnager eject automatically. if no luck then remove the face of changer and insert long flat metal strip like paper knife of something on left and right side and by holding them together try pulling out.
  18. Not necesarily with time, but with km you should rotate. Every 10k is ideal rotation period.
