What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, face mask, rubber gloves, enthusiasm, willingness to learn and your own compressor for tire inflation. Approximate finish time: 10.30 PM followed by over night camping Additional information: Drive ends approx. 10.30 PM on Thursday night ,when we will stop in a secluded area in Qudra where we can park our cars and stay over night in the dunes. Bring in your camping gears, sleeping bags/extra blankets as it gets super-cold at night. You can either sleep in your car with a flat back seat/tent if you have one. Bring in your food for dinner - packed or Barbeque but strictly in pits , no direct fire allowed on sand. Ensure your stuff inside your car is properly secured for the drive with straps/tie downs .COVID appropriate behavior is needed for your own safety Please make sure you bring your own garbage bags as we are obliged to keep the desert clean when we leave after camping. Hi, A new year is about to welcome us all and I wanted to understand the protocols and interest for arranging a short (1night) camping trip. Is there a place on our site to track interest in arranging an overnight camping event? Are others looking for a chance to pair a drive with an overnight camp? full disclosure, I haven’t camped since I was 10yo and none of my family have a desire to camp (yet) so was hoping to find an opportunity to have such a trip done via our community and linked to a nice drive(s)? If theres enough interest I am certain we can make our Marshall’s motivated to make this real.

My content here is not really about cars but as most off-roaders love to camp overnight, I thought it may interest them. The issue is this: The wattage rating of LED lights, e.g. camping lights seems quite misleading on some claims on the net and even printed on the LED itself. Here I am referring to the rod mounted LEDs. If you go on to the net for LED camp lights it advertises ones of 800W and 2,000 watts for those shown in attached pics. As I was curious how long a 12V battery could sustain this LED light, things were not making sense . For some time now, I wanted to calculate how many hours my 12V , 7AH battery would sustain my camp light. My LED states it is a 100W light so it implied 8.3 Amps current . (using Current= Power/Voltage) . This means my battery would not sustain it even for an hour at the max 7 AH. However, it almost always lasts a very long time ( over 2 hours ) as I have never drained the battery during any of my late night picnics/bbqs. I could be wrong but I feel that these lights in specific are being rated as per comparable wattage not actual. The reasoning that led me to this is that if you buy an LED bulb for your home it would normally have a lighting level comparison stating its light output equivalence if you had an incandescent or an energy saving bulb that you were replacing with it. So a 13W LED bulb gives equivalent lumens of light as a 75W regular incandescent bulb and a 18-19W CFL. I request those into Electronics know-how to reconfirm my understanding.

Hello, Since I'm still 2 drives away from making into to Fewbie level i don't have any Carnity drives to join this weekend, presumably because some people are taking some time off and others just went to Liwa, this is fine except i'd love to go out anyway. Anyone know any newbie friendly activities where i can take like 3 cars out and do some stuff? looking to do some camping over night if possible and as safely as possible. Doesn't have to be dune bashing or a desert drive necessarily, just looking to venture into the great outdoors.
