Sidshk
that look disgusting, but the question which still linger "is engine flushing oil will ease this sludge" ?
shadow79
Sludge builds up because 1 you using the oil beyond it's due change time (most people are from this category) 2 your engine for some reason is running pretty hot thus cooking up the engine oil (almost all cars only have a oil light to indicate pressure but usually almost none of them have a engine oil temperature gauge if you have and know how to read and respond to it then you can avert many situations) 3 you using the oil which is low in rating for the required car's application... If you dislodge that not all of it will end up out while draining some will be there to stick to the oil strainer and some might actually be sticking in those vain like oil lines which will later on invite trouble.... People using 0-20 or 30 oil in peak 50c summer time sitting and idling in traffic for hours on end heat soaking the engine with often missed and long overdue oil change intervals cooks oil into grease. Specially modern cars which due to all the emission crap run hotter than they should be in the first place. Barry
My advice, open the oil cap and look inside. If it needs flushed, it needs flushed, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. These bottles of engine flush you see that you put in the oil, they’re mostly paraffin. So if you want to save money put a pint of paraffin in the engine, run it for 15 minutes and drain the oil when it’s still hot. Gallons of flushing oil, I wouldn’t put them in any engine. You don’t know what’s in it. The jars aren’t even marked with a grade. Good way to heck up an engine fast. If your engine is really sludged up, no amount of flushing products will fix it. You need to remove the rocker covers and sump and put paraffin or diesel through the oil galleries under pressure. Heres a particularly shitty one I worked on. Rental car company customer, always used the cheapest oil available. Were suprised when the engine siezed up 6 weeks after this. I refuse to deal with rental companies now. If other mechanics want to cut each other’s throats and do oil changes for 30 dhs, let them have at it. 2

If someone doesn’t want to listen to proper technical advice and wants to keep chasing the lowest price, then good luck to them. Let them deal with high repair costs instead of medium maintenance costs. 2
