Why is the Audi check engine light on

Recommended Posts

after getting check engine light i got it diagnosed and found out the the cylinders 4, 5 and 6 are misfiring and was asked to get the following things changed

ignition coils

spark plugs,

Coolant Temp sensor

and repaired crankcase vacuum hose.

the car ran fine for 5 days without the light and i was under the impression that it fixed and again the light came up

so i changed the Evap purge Valve and then replaced one Catalytic converter (Bank 1)

but the light still remains and now they want to change the Engine Control Module, but they dont guarantee that it will solve the problem.

All this cost me 10,000K and i am still pointing arrows in the dark i feel cheated and want some advise please

Hi Vishal, sorry to hear your 10k loss in shootng arrow in dark. Check engine light is always a mysterious issue if person doesnt have appropriate VAG diagnostic tool.

I can also suggest 5 more things to check or change, as per my knowledge but the best is find good garage who have OBD II compliant VAG tool and run on your car to find the exact fault code and then see which item is pointed by those fault code.

More likely it seems Air flow sensor or some other electrical related issue that only fails 3 cylinders, quite weird.
