what made the brakes of my Captiva spongy

what may have made the bakes of my captiva soft and spongy.

i am not understanding the problem to resolve this issue. will i have to change them as this will be the first time im going to experience such problem.

When air gets into the brake system the brakes get spongy

a few things lead to this either leaks in the lines, less fluid in the system or if caliper that opened up a brake line is changed. b bleeding the brakes. will solve the problem

I want to change the brakes change, How can i save second trip at the mechanics workshop meaning how can i make sure everything is done at one shot.
