Hi all. I was reading about the scan tools these days which are helpful in diagnosing the warning lights in a car. But was wondering if the scan tool only pop up the trouble code or it can tell us the reason of the fault as well? Does anyone know?

Absolutely Not. The scan tool is only helpful is detecting the trouble code but never tells the reason behind it or what is creating such a trouble in the car.
