Toyota Land Cruiser FJ 2027 Thoughts

Hello lads, 

Been a long time since I’ve been here (about to change soon). I’m looking to upgrade from the mighty Jimny to the new FJ. 
 

Its no OG FJ in any way shape or form but would be cool to know the experts thoughts.

Good to see you back here mate.

A quick google gives me the following info,.. 1,970kg @ around 160HP from the 2,.7 litre engine.

Power to weight ratio of 81 which puts it just in the 'Borderline OK for dunes' category from @Gauravs previous spreadsheet.

Its around the same weight, but around 70hp less than the previous gen FJ.

Of course in the end it comes down to the driver

hp/tonne vs hp/ton. so it will be around 89 hp/ton. still in the Borderline OK.

Good to see you back my friend! I've been following your content online and love it!

The new FJ is in my opinion a great lifestyle overlanding / off-roading / camping 4x4 that has the proven Toyota reliability and a bulletproof 2.7.

We know that the existing FJ owners are largely disappointed due to the departure of the mighty 4.0 V6, but you of anyone should know by now that fun is not always measured in horsepower.  I've driven underpowered 4x4's for most of my life and will honestly say it's been so much fun to find a smooth line and make it up a large dune. You've driven in Liwa with me and your Jimny took it all with a smile, and i believe the new FJ Cruiser would do the same for you.
