Damaged Mounts can damage the car?

rear engine mounts are damaged and i have to change them do i ask the guy to check the front engine mount too?

DID this damage the car in any way?

ASk mechanic to check if its cracked or aged, its better to change all mountings at same time so that you can keep track of it.

Yes. if your mount is damage it is possible that the motor will be able to move farther than designed. The engine movements can cause damage to the break lines. The exhaust engine can also be dented and damaged from it. It is better you have it fixed right away.

I used to thing mounting is only use to absorb engine vibration, but your info also has great point that it might damage other component if engine start moving and shaking from its original place.
