What is sweet test and how is it done?

my mechanic said that as my fuel tank is faulty i have to do sweep test so if someone cant tell me what is sweep test and how is it done. Can i do it myself?

i know whats is sweep test not sweet test if that is what you are looking for then disconnect the sender and the gauge wil go one way, ground the sender wire and the gauge will go the other way.
