How to read default codes in a car using a scan tool?

You can check the trouble codes using the scan tool when the check engine light is on. Connect the scan tool in to the 16-pin which is generally present at the dashboard. While switching it on, the scan tool may ask for the name, VIN code or the manufacturing year of your car. Generally, all the scan tools are automatic as you switch it on. And as the tool identifies the connection, it will automatically show all the trouble codes related to your car. All the troubles codes of car starts with P which includes engine problem, emissions control problem, catalytic converter problem, control system problem and many more
