Why is the accelerator sticky of my 1998 Q45 Infiniti?

My Q45 is running great but the accelerator is sticky when at a red light and when you push harder it "breaks" loose and car jerks forward. What is your opinion??

First make sure that your floor mat is in position and not pushing against the pedal

Clean out the throttle plate and inspect if the accelerator cable is kinked

then take some WD-40 and spray on your cable and the throttle body make sure it is lubricated.
