do i need to change the hand break

the hand break has become a bit loose ( very negligible notice ) do i still need to change it or it can run for sometime as i am the 1st owner of the car and i have got the breaks changed but not the hand break yet it is a 1999 car

hand brake have nut based adjuster at the end, If its at last limit and cant adjust any further then it needs change. Or else twist that nut more and it will tighten the hand brake.
