when do i change my mercedes breaks

when do i know that i have to change my break pads.

one of my friends friend has advised me to change them after ever year or so and i have been using them for a year and a half and the seem to be working just fine.

it really depends on the usage of the breaks if you are driving in the city area where you are using the breaks a lot then it must be changed after 18 months but it will be best to check with a mechanic..
