riaaz Posted July 17, 2011 Share Posted July 17, 2011 FIRST REMOVE THE STUD Raise the vehicle and safely support it with jack stands, then remove the wheel. Remove the brake drum and brake shoes. Using a large C-clamp and socket, press the stud from the axle flange. Cover the serrated part of the stud with liquid soap and place it into the hole. FOR INSTALLATION: PLACE about 4 flat washers over the stud and thread the lug nut. Hold the flange while tightening the lug nut. the stud should be drawn into position, then remove the lug nut and washers. Install the wheel, then remove the jack stands and carefully lower the vehicle.
