When doing compression test the preliminary things to bear in mind-

1. Check the fuel pump & fuel-injection fuses,

2. Remove the spark plug and disconnect the main wire to the coil,

3. Place your hand on the spark plug hole threaded end.

4. Turn the ignition and crank the engine couple of times in a stable reading;

if you are not sure about this, do take your engine to a authorized service station and get it done.

If the compression of one cylinder is lower than others, then surely there is problem.

If two cylinder compression is lower than others, you can add little oil and do the compression test again.

If two cylinder opposite to each other is showing lower reading, then head gasket might be tossed.
