burning smell fom the car AC

i have a 2009 cadi bought band new.

now that the winters are here i dnt put on the AC as much as i did in summer now most of the time it is on either 1 or 2

but today in the afternoon it was a bit too hot so i put it on 4 and there was a horrible smell of something burning.

can anybody tell me what could this me coz it was there through out but the cooling was fine till i reached the destination

Get your engine bay wiring checked up by professional electrician. These things can catch fire very easily if leave unattended. Be careful.
